The Repentance

﴾ 1 ﴿ A permit (54:43) (Baraa'atun) from GOD (Minallahi) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi), to (ilaa) those who (Ellaziina) have made an agreement with you (the believers) (Äähadttum) among (Mina) the polytheists (El'Mush'rikiin).
﴾ 2 ﴿ “So (Fa) travel (Siihu') on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) for four (Ar'baäta) months (9:5) (Ash'hurin) and (Wa) know (E'lamuu') that you (the polytheists) (Annakum') cannot (Gai'ru) cause failure to GOD (Mu'jizii-llahi) and that GOD (Annallaha) will disgrace (Mukh'zii) the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriin).”
﴾ 3 ﴿ And (Wa) an announcement (Azaanun) from GOD (Minallahi) and HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi) to (ilaa) the people (En'Naasi) on the greatest (El'Ak'bari) day (Yaw'ma) of the Pilgrimage (El'Hajji) that GOD (Annallaha) is free (Bariiun) from (Mina) the polytheist (El'Mush'rikiina), and so (Wa) is HIS messenger (Rasuulu-hu). So (Fa) if (In) you (the polytheists) should repent (Tub'tum'), then (Fa) it (Huwa) will be better (Khai'run) for you (Lakum'), but (Wa) if (In) you turn away (Tawallai'tum'), then (Fa) know (E'lamuu') that you (Annakum') cannot (Gai'ru) cause failure to GOD (Mu'jizii-llahi). So (Wa) announce of (Bas'shiri Bi) a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabin) to those who (Ellaziina) have disbelieved (Kafaru'),
﴾ 4 ﴿ except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) made an agreement with you (Äähadttum) among (Mina) the polytheists (El'Mush'rikiina) and (Thumma) they have not (Lam') fallenshort with you (-Yanqusuu-kum') at all (Shai'an) and have not (Walam') assisted (Yuzaahiru') anyone (Ahadan) against you (Älai'kum'); then (Fa) fulfil (Atimmuu') their agreement (Äh'da-hum') to them (ilai'him') till (ilaa) their deadline (Muddati-him'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) loves (Yuhibbu) those who are pious (El'Muttaqiin).
﴾ 5 ﴿ And (Fa) when (Izaa) the Sacred (El'Hurumu) Months (9:36) (El'Ash'huru) have passed (Ensalakha), then (Fa) fight (Eq'tulu') the polytheists (El'Mush'rikiina) wherever (Hai'thu) you find them (Wajadttumuu-hum'), seize them (Khuzuu-hum'), confine them (Eh'suruu-hum') and (Wa) be seated for them (Eq'udu' Lahum') at every (Kulla) observation post (Mar'sodin). But (Fa) if (In) they repent 1 (Taabu'), establish (Aqaamu') the Litany 2 (Es'Solaata) and give (Aatu') the Charity 3 (Ez'Zakaata), then (Fa) allow (Khallu') their way (98:5) (Sabiila-hum'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 6 ﴿ And (Wa) if (In') anyone (Ahadun) among (Mina) the polytheists (El'Mush'rikiina) should seek your protection (s) (Es'tajaara-ka), then (Fa) protect him (Ajir'hu) until (Hattaa) he hears (Yas'maä) the words of GOD (Kalaama-llahi), then (Thumma) deliver him (Ab'lig'hu) to his shelter (Ma'mana-hu). That (Zaalika) is because they (Bi'anna-hum') are a people (Qaw'mun) who do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 7 ﴿ How (Kai'fa) can there be (Yakuunu) an agreement (Äh'dun) for the polytheists (Lil' Mush'rikiina) with GOD (Endallahi) and (Wa) with (Enda) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi)? Except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) made an agreement with you (Äähadttum) at (Enda) the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidil' Haraami); so long as (Famaa) they remain upright to you (the believers) (Es'taqaamu' Lakum'), then (Fa) remain upright to them (Es'taqiimu' Lahum'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) loves (Yuhibbu) those who are pious (El'Muttaqiin).
﴾ 8 ﴿ How (Kai'fa), while (Wa) if (In) they overcome you (Yaz'haru' Älai'kum'), they do not (Laa) look after (Yar'qubu') a family (illan) among you (Fiikum') nor (Walaa) protection (Zimmatan)? They please you (Yur'duuna-kum) with (Bi) their mouths (Af'waahi-him'), but (Wa) their hearts (Quluubu-hum') decline (Ta'baa), and (Wa) most of them (Ak'tharu-hum') are immoral (Faasiquun).
﴾ 9 ﴿ They have traded (Esh'taraw') the verses of GOD (Aayaati-llahi) for (Bi) a little (Qaliilan) price (Thamanan) and (Fa) turned away from (Soddu' Än) HIS way (Sabiili-hi). Indeed (Inna), evil (Saa'a) is what (Maa) they have been (Kaanu') doing (Ya'maluun).
﴾ 10 ﴿ They do not (Laa) look after (Yar'qubuuna) concerning (Fii) a believing (Mu'minin) family (illan) nor (Walaa) protection (Zimmatan). And (Wa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the aggressors (El'Mu'taduun).
﴾ 11 ﴿ But (Fa) if (In) they repent (Taabu'), establish (Aqaamu') the Litany (Es'Solaata) and (Wa) give (Aatawu') the Charity (Ez'Zakaata), then (Fa) they are your brethren (Ikh'waanu-kum') in (Fii) the religion (3:85) (Ed'Diini); and (Wa) We have explained (Nufassilu) the verses (El'Aayaati) for (Li) people (Qaw'min) who know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 12 ﴿ And (Wa) if (In) they violate (Nakathuu') their oaths (16:92) (Ai'maana-hum) after (Min Ba'di) their agreement (Äh'di-him’) and challenge (Toänu') against (Fii) your religion (Diini-kum), then (Fa) fight (Qaatiluu') the leaders (28:41) (A'immata) of disbelief (El'Kuf'ri). Indeed, they (Innahum) shall have (Lahum) no (Laa) rights (oaths) (Ai'maana), perhaps they (Laällahum) will refrain (Yantahuun).
﴾ 13 ﴿ Would you not (Ala) fight (-Tuqaatiluuna) a people (Qaw'man) who have violated (Nakathuu') their oaths (Ai'maana-hum’) and had intended (Hammu') with (Bi) the eviction (Ikh'raaji) of the Messenger (Er'Rasuuli), and (Wa) they (Hum) started with you (the believers) (Badauu-kum’) the first (Awwala) time (Marratin)? Are you afraid of them (Atakh'shaw'nahum')? And (Fa) GOD (Ellahu) is worthier (Ahaqqu) to (An) be feared (Takh'shaw'hu), if (In) you should be (Kuntum) believers (Mu'miniin).
﴾ 14 ﴿ Fight them (Qaatiluu-hum’); GOD (Ellahu) will punish them (Yuäzzib'humu) by (Bi) your hands (Ai'dii-kum) and (Wa) will disgrace them (Yukh'zi-him) and (Wa) grant you victory (Yansur'kum) over them (Älai'him), and (Wa) will heal (Yash'fi) the bosoms (Suduura) of people (Qaw'min) who believe (Mu'miniin).
﴾ 15 ﴿ And (Wa) HE will remove (Yuz'hib') anger (Gai'zo) from their hearts (Quluubi-him’). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) will forgive (Yatuubu Älaa) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaa'u); for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 16 ﴿ Or (Am') do you think (Hasib'tum') that (An) you will be left (Tut'raku') while (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) has not (Lamma) exposed (Ya'lami) those who (Ellaziina) strive (Jaahadu') among you (Minkum) and (Wa) do not (Lam') take (Yattakhizu') other than GOD (Min Duuni-llahi), nor (Walaa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi), nor (Walaa) the believers (El'Mu'miniina) as confidants (Waliijatan)? And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is conversant (Khabiiru) with what (Bimaa) you do (Ta'maluun).
﴾ 17 ﴿ It is (Kaana) not (Maa) for the polytheists (Lil' Mush'rikiina) to (An) visit (Ya'muru') the mosques of GOD (72:18) (Masaajida-llahi), witnessing (Shaahidiina) against (Älaa) themselves (Anfusi-him) with disbelief (Bil' Kuf'ri). Those (U'laaika) are the ones whose deeds (A'maalu-hum) have become worthless (Habitot'), and (Wa) they (Hum') will be in (Fii) the Fire (En'Naari) eternally (Khaaliduun).
﴾ 18 ﴿ The mosques of GOD (Masaajida-llahi) are only (Innama) visited (Ya'muru) by those who (Man') believe (Aamana) in GOD (Billahi) and (Wa) the Last Day (El'Yaw'mil' Aakhiri), and they establish (Aqaama) the Litany (Es'Solaata) and give (Aataa) the Charity (Ez'Zakaata), and they do not (Walam') fear (Yakh'sha) except (illa) GOD (Ellaha), and (Fa) perhaps (Äsaa An) those (U'laaika) will be (Yakuunu') of (Mina) the guided (El'Muh'tadiin).
﴾ 19 ﴿ Have you rendered (Ajaäl'tum') the providing of water (Siqaayata) to a pilgrim (El'Haajji) and (Wa) structuring (Emaarata) of the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidil' Haraami) as (Ka) one who (Man') believes (Aamana) in GOD (Billahi) and the Last day (Wal' Yaw'mil' Aakhiri) and (Wa) strives (Jaahada) in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi)? They are not (Laa) equal (Yas'tawuuna) in front of GOD (Endallahi). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) does not (Laa) guide (Yah'dii) the transgressing (Ez'Zoalimiin) people (El'Qaw'ma).
﴾ 20 ﴿ Those who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanu'), emigrated (Haajaru') and (Wa) strove (Jaahadu') in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi) with (Bi) their wealth (Am'waali-him) and (Wa) their souls (Anfusi-him) are greater (A'zomu) in degree (rank) (Darajatan) in front of GOD (Endallahi). And (Wa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the achievers (El'Faa'izuun).
﴾ 21 ﴿ Their LORD (Rabbu-hum) gives them good news of (Yubas'shiru-hum Bi) mercy (Rah'matin) and (Wa) approval (Rid'waanin) from HIM (Min'hu) as well as (Wa) gardens (Jannaatin) for them (Lahum) wherein (Fiiha) is permanent (Muqiim) bliss (Naeemun),
﴾ 22 ﴿ they will be therein (Fiihaa) eternally (Khaalidiina) forever (Abadan). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) possesses (Endahu) great (Äziimu) reward (Aj'run).
﴾ 23 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) take (Tattakhizuu') your fathers (Aabaa'a-kum) and (Wa) your brethren (Ikh'waana-kum) as allies (Aw'liyaai), if (Ini) they preferred (Es'tahabbu') disbelief (El'Kuf'ra) over (Älaa) the faith (El' iimaan). And (Wa) whoever (Man) befriends them (Yatawwalla-hum) among you (Minkum), then (Fa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimuun).
﴾ 24 ﴿ Say (Qul): "If (In) your fathers 1 (Aabaau-kum), your children 2 (Ab'naau-kum), your brethren 3 (Ikh'waanu-kum), your wives 4 (Az'waaju-kum), your tribe 5 (Äshiiratu-kum), wealth (Am'waalun) which you have invested 6 (Eq'raf'tumuu-ha), business (Tijaaratun) which (-ha) you fear (Takh'shaw'na) would slump 7 (Kasaada-) and (Wa) houses 8 (Masaakinu) which you are proud of (Tar'daw'na-haa) are (Kaana) more beloved (Ahabba) to you (ilai'kum) than (Mina) GOD (Ellahi) and HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi) and striving (Jihaadin) in (Fii) HIS way (cause) (Sabiili-hi), then (Fa) wait (Tarabbasu') until (Hattaa) GOD (Ellahu) brings (Ya'tiya Bi) HIS command (Am'ri-hi). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) does not (Laa) guide (Yah'dii) the immoral (El'Faasiqiin) people (El'Qaw'ma)."
﴾ 25 ﴿ GOD (Ellahu) has certainly (Laqad') granted you victory (Nasora-kumu) against (Fii) many (Kathiira') citizens (Mawaatina), but (Wa) on the day (Yaw'ma) of Hunayn (Hunai'nin), when (Iz') you became proud of (A'jabat'kum) your great number (Kath'ratu-kum’), thus (Wa) it did not (Lam') avail you (Tug'ni Änkum’) at all (Shai'an), and (Wa) the earth (El'Ar'du) became straitened (Doaqat') for you (Älai'kumu) in what (Bimaa) had been spacious (Rahubat'); then (Thumma) you turned away (Wallai'tum) retreating (Mud'biriin).
﴾ 26 ﴿ Then (Thumma) GOD sent down (Anzala-llahu) HIS tranquillity (Sakiinata-hu) upon (Älaa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi) and (Wa) upon (Älaa) the believers (El'Mu'miniina), and HE sent down (Anzala) soldiers (Angels) (Junuudan) which (-haa) you did not (Lam') see (Taraw-) and punished (Äzzaba) those who (Ellaziina) disbelieved (Kafaru'). And (Wa) that (Zaalika) was the requital (Jazaau) of the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriin).
﴾ 27 ﴿ Then (Thumma) GOD (Ellahu) forgave (Yatuubu Älaa) whomever (Man) HE willed (Yashaa') after (Min Ba'di) that (Zaalika); for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 28 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanuu'), the polytheists (El'Mush'rikuuna) are only (Innamaa) polluted (Najasun), so they shall not (Falaa) approach (Yaq'rabu') the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidal' Haraama) after (Ba'da) this (Haaza) year of theirs (9:36) (Äämi-him’). And (Wa) if (In') you fear (Khif'tum) for financial support (Äi'latan), then (Fa) GOD (Ellahu) will (Saw'fa) enrich you (Yug'nii-kumu) from (Min) HIS favour (Fad'li-hi), if (In) HE wills (Shaa'a). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
