The Rooms

﴾ 1 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) advance (set ahead) (Tuqaddimu') before (Bai'na Yadayi) GOD (Ellahi) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi), but (Wa) beware of GOD (Ettaqu'llaha). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Hearing (Samiiun) and Omniscient (Äliim).
﴾ 2 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) raise (Tar'fauu') your voices (As'waata-kum’) above (Faw'qa) the voice (Sow'ti) of the Prophet (En'Nabiyyi), nor (Walaa) shall you shout at him (Taj'haru' Lahu) in speech (Bil' Qaw'li) as (Ka) some of you (Ba'di-kum) shout at (Jah'ri Li) others (Ba'din), lest (An) you void (Tah'bato) your deeds (A'maalu-kum’) while (Wa) you (Antum) do not (Laa) perceive (Tash'uruun).
﴾ 3 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) lower (Yagudduuna) their voices (As'waata-hum) in front of (Enda) the Messenger of GOD (Rasuuli-llahi), those (U'laaika) are the ones (Ellaziina) GOD has examined (Em'tahana-llahu) their hearts (Quluuba-hum’) for piousness (48:26) (Lit' Taq'waa). For them (Lahum) is forgiveness (Mag'firatun) and (Wa) a great (Äziim) reward (Aj'run).
﴾ 4 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) call you (s) (Yunaaduunaka) from (Min) behind (Waraai) the rooms (El'Hujuraati)*; most of them (Ak'tharu-hum’) do not (Laa) reason (Ya'qiluun).
﴾ 5 ﴿ And (Wa) if only they had been (Law' Anna-hum’) patient (Sobaru') until (Hattaa) you (s) come out (Takh'ruja) to them (ilai'him’), it would have (La) been (Kaana) better (Khai'ran) for them (Lahum’). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 6 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanuu'), if (In) an immoral person (Faasiqu) brings you (Jaa'a-kum’ Bi) news (Nabain), then (Fa) ascertain (investigate) (Tabayyanuu'), lest (An) you strike (Tusiibu') a people (Qaw'ma) out of (Bi) ignorance (Jahaalatin), then (Fa) you would become (Tus'bihu') remorseful (Naadimiin) over (Älaa) what (Maa) you have done (Faäl'tum).
﴾ 7 ﴿ And (Wa) know (E'lamuu') that (Anna) the Messenger of GOD (48:29) (Rasuula-llahi) is among you (Fiikum’). If (Law') he were to obey you (Yutiiu-kum) in (Fii) much (Kathiirin) of (Min) the matter (El'Am'ri), you would have been cursed (Laäni'ttum’), but (Walaakinna) GOD (Ellaha) has endeared (Habbaba) the faith (El' iimaana) to you (ilai'kumu) and (Wa) adorned it (Zayyana-hu) in (Fii) your hearts (Quluubi-kum) and has made disbelief 1 (El'Kuf'ra) distasteful (-Karraha) to you (ilai'kumu), as well as (Wa) immorality 2 (El'Fusuuqa) and disobedience 3 (Wal' Es'yaana). They (the believers) (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the rightly guided (Er'Raashiduun).
﴾ 8 ﴿ As favour (Fad'lan) from GOD (Minallahi) and (Wa) blessing (Ni'matan). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 9 ﴿ And (Wa) if (In) two factions (Toa’ifataani) of (Mina) believers (El'Mu'miniina) should fight (Eq'tatalu'), then (Fa) reconcile (As'lihu') between them (Bai'nahumaa). But (Fa) if (In) one of them (Ih'daa-humaa) assaults (Bagat’ Älaa) the other (El’Ukh'raa), then (Fa) fight (Qaatilu') the one that (Ellatii) aggresses (Tab'gii) until (Hattaa) it returns (Tafii) to (ilaa) the command of GOD (Am'ri-llahi). And (Fa) if (In) it returns (Faa'at'), then (Fa) reconcile (As'lihu') between them (Bai'nahumaa) in justice (Bil' Äd'li) and be equitable (Aq'situu'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) loves (Yuhibbu) those who are equitable (El'Muq'sitiin).
﴾ 10 ﴿ The believers (El'Mu'minuuna) are only (Innamaa) brothers (Ikh'watun); so (Fa) reconcile between (As'lihu' Bai'na) your brothers (Akhawai'kum’). And (Wa) beware of GOD (Ettaqu'llaha) so that you (Laällakum) may attain mercy (Tur'hamuun).
﴾ 11 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), let no (Laa) people (Qaw'mun) ridicule (Yas'khar’) any (Min) people (Qaw'min), perhaps (Äsaa An) they may be (Yakuunu') better (Khai'ran) than them (Min'hum) nor (Walaa) shall women (Nisaa'un) do against (Min) women (Nisaa’in), perhaps (Äsaa An) they may be (Yakunna) better (Khai'ran) than them (f) (Min'hunna). And do not (Walaa) criticize (Tal'mizuu') yourselves (each other) (Anfusa-kum’) nor (Walaa) shall you insult each other (Tanaabazu') by nicknames (Bil' Al'qaabi). Wretched (Bi'sa) is the name (Eli's'mu) of immorality (El'Fusuuqu) after (Ba'da) the faith (El' iimaani). And (Wa) whoever (Man) does not (Lam’) repent (Yatub'), then (Fa) those (U'laaika) are (Humu) the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimuun).
﴾ 12 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), avoid (Ej'tanibu') much (Kathiiran) of (Mina) assumption (Ez'Zonni); indeed (Inna), some (Ba'do) assumption (Ez'Zonni) is a sin (Ith'mun). And do not (Walaa) spy (Tajassasu') nor (Walaa) shall you backbite (Yag'tab) each other (Ba'du-kum Ba'doan). Would (A-) any of you (Ahadu-kum’) like (-yuhibbu) to (An) eat (Ya'kula) the flesh (Lah'ma) of his (-hi) dead (Mai'tan) brother (Akhii-)? For (Fa) you would distaste it (Karih'tumuu-hu); so (Wa) beware of GOD (Ettaqu'llaha). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Compassionate (Tawwaabun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 13 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) mankind (En'Naasu), indeed (Innaa) We have created you (Khalaq'naa-kum) as (Min) male 1 (Zakarin) and (Wa) female 2 (Unthaa) and (Wa) made you (Jaäl'naa-kum) nations 1 (Shu'uuban) and tribes 2 (Qabaa’ila) that (Li) you may recognize each other (Ta'äärafuu'). Indeed (Inna), the noblest of you (Ak'rama-kum’) in front of GOD (Endallahi) is the most pious of you (At'qaa-kum’). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Cognizant (Khabiir).
﴾ 14 ﴿ The Arabs (9:97) (El’A'raabu) said (Qaalati), "We have believed (Aamannaa)." Say (Qul): "You have not (Lam’) believed (Tu'minu'), but (Walaakin) say (Quuluu'), ‘We have submitted (As'lam'naa),’ after (Lamma) the faith (El' iimaanu) has entered (Yad'khuli) into (Fii) your hearts (Quluubi-kum’)." And (Wa) if (In) you obey GOD (Tutiiu'llaha) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu), HE (God) will not (Laa) crush (Yalit'kum) anything (Shai'an) of (Min) your deeds (A'maali-kum’). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 15 ﴿ The believers (El'Mu'minuuna) are only (Innamaa) those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu') in GOD (Billahi) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi) and (Thumma) they do not (Lam’) doubt (Yar'taabu') and (Wa) they strive (Jaahadu') with (Bi) their wealth (Am'waali-him) and their souls (Anfusi-him) in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi). They (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the truthful (Es'Soadiquun).
﴾ 16 ﴿ Say (Qul'): "Are you teaching GOD (Atuällimuuna-llaha) about (Bi) your religion (3:85) (Diini-kum’) while (Wa) HE knows (Ya'lamu) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and whatever (Wamaa) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di), and (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is aware of (Äliim Bi) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in)?”
﴾ 17 ﴿ They oblige you (s) (Yamunnuuna Älai'ka) that (An') they have submitted (As'lamu')? Say (Qul): "Your submission (Is'laama-kum) does not (Laa) oblige me (Tamunnu' Älayya). Rather (Bali), GOD (Ellahu) has obliged you (Yamunnu Älai'kum) in order to (An') guide you (Hadaa-kum’) to the faith (Lil' iimaani), if (In) you should be (Kuntum) truthful (Soadiqiin)."
﴾ 18 ﴿ Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) knows (Ya'lamu) the unseen (35:38) (Gai'ba) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di), for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is cognizant (Basiiru) of what (Bimaa) you do (Ta'maluun).
