The Star سُورَةُ النَّجۡمِ
﴾ ١ ﴿ وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ
﴾ 1 ﴿
By (Wa) the star (En'Naj'mi)* when (Izaa) it sinks (Hawaa).
﴾ ٢ ﴿ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
﴾ 2 ﴿
Your friend (s) (Soahibu-kum’) is neither (Maa) astray (Dolla) nor (Wamaa) misled (Gawaa),
﴾ ٣ ﴿ وَمَا یَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰۤ
﴾ 3 ﴿
nor (Wamaa) does he speak (Yantiqu) from (Äni) inclination (El'Hawaa);
﴾ ٤ ﴿ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡیࣱ یُوحَىٰ
﴾ 4 ﴿
he (Huwa) was only (In' illa) inspired (Yuuhaa) by inspiration (21:45) (Wah'yun).
﴾ ٥ ﴿ عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ
﴾ 5 ﴿
The strong (Shadiidu) in power (Gabriel) (El'Quwaa) taught him (Mohammed) (Ällama-hu), (81:19-21)
﴾ ٦ ﴿ ذُو مِرَّةࣲ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ
﴾ 6 ﴿
possessing (Zuu) strength (Mirratin); thus (Fa) he (G) became steady (Es'tawaa)
﴾ ٧ ﴿ وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ
﴾ 7 ﴿
while (Wa) he (Huwa) was in (Bi) the highest (El'A'laa) horizon (81:23) (El'Ufuqi),
﴾ ٨ ﴿ ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
﴾ 8 ﴿
then (Thumma) he (G) drew nearer (Danaa) and (Fa) dangled (Tadallaa),
﴾ ٩ ﴿ فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَیۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ
﴾ 9 ﴿
and (Fa) was (Kaana) at a distance (Qaaba) of two bows (Qaw'sai'ni) or (Aw') nearer (Ad'naa).
﴾ ١٠ ﴿ فَأَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَاۤ أَوۡحَىٰ
﴾ 10 ﴿
Then (Fa) he (G) inspired (Aw'haa) to (ilaa) his subordinate (M) (Äb'di-hi) what (Maa) has been inspired (Aw'haa). (81:19)
﴾ ١١ ﴿ مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰۤ
﴾ 11 ﴿
The mind (El'Fuaadu) was not (Maa) deceived (Kazaba) by what (Maa) he (M) saw (Ra'aya).
﴾ ١٢ ﴿ أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا یَرَىٰ
﴾ 12 ﴿
Are you (p) then (Afa-) disputing with him (M) (-Tumaaruunahu) over (Älaa) what (Maa) he saw (Yaraa)?
﴾ ١٣ ﴿ وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ
﴾ 13 ﴿
For (Wa) indeed (Laqad') he saw him (G) (Ra'aa-hu) in another (Ukh'raa) descent (Naz'latan),
﴾ ١٤ ﴿ عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ
﴾ 14 ﴿
near (Enda) the forbidden (El'Muntahaa) lotus tree (Sid'rati), (17:60)
﴾ ١٥ ﴿ عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰۤ
﴾ 15 ﴿
near it (Endahaa) was the Garden of Refuge (Jannatul' Ma'waa)
﴾ ١٦ ﴿ إِذۡ یَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا یَغۡشَىٰ
﴾ 16 ﴿
as (Iz') the lotus tree (Es'Sid'rata) covered (Yag'shaa) what (Maa) it covered (Yag'shaa).
﴾ ١٧ ﴿ مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
﴾ 17 ﴿
The eyesight (El'Basoru) did not (Maa) deviate (Zaaga), nor (Wamaa) did it transgress (Togaa).
﴾ ١٨ ﴿ لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰۤ
﴾ 18 ﴿
He (Mohammed) certainly (Laqad') saw (Ra'aa) one of (Min') the major (El'Kub'raa) signs (Aayaati) of his LORD (Rabbi-hi). (20:23)
﴾ ١٩ ﴿ أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ
﴾ 19 ﴿
Have you (p) then (Afa-) considered (-Rai'tumu) Allaat (f) (Ellaata) and (Wa) Uzza (El'Uzzaa),
﴾ ٢٠ ﴿ وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ
﴾ 20 ﴿
as well as (Wa) the other (El'Ukh'raa) third (Etthaalithata), Manaat (f) (Manaata)?
﴾ ٢١ ﴿ أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
﴾ 21 ﴿
Is (A-) the male (Ez'Zakaru) for you (p) (-lakumu) and (Wa) the female (El'Unthaa) for HIM (God) (Lahu)?
﴾ ٢٢ ﴿ تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا قِسۡمَةࣱ ضِیزَىٰۤ
﴾ 22 ﴿
That (Til'ka) then (Izan) is an unfair (Diizaa) apportionment (Qis'matun).
﴾ ٢٣ ﴿ إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّاۤ أَسۡمَاۤءࣱ سَمَّیۡتُمُوهَاۤ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُم مَّاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَـٰنٍۚ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ
﴾ 23 ﴿
They (Hiya) are only (In' illaa) names (As'maa'un) which (-haa) you (p) (Antum) and (Wa) your fathers (Aabaau-kum) have named (Sammai'tumuu-), for which (Biha) GOD (Ellahu) has not (Maa) sent down (Anzala) any (Min) authority (Sul'toanin). They follow (Yattabiuuna) only (In' illa) assumption (Ez'Zonna) and what (Wamaa) the souls (El'Anfusu) desire (Tah'waa), while (Wa) the Guidance (45:11) (El'Hudaa) has certainly (Laqad') come to them (Jaa'a-hum) from (Min) their LORD (Rabbi-himu).
﴾ ٢٤ ﴿ أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
﴾ 24 ﴿
Or (Am') does the human being get (Lil' Insaani) whatever (Maa) he wishes (Tamannaa)?
﴾ ٢٥ ﴿ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ
﴾ 25 ﴿
But (Fa) to GOD belongs (Lillahi) the hereafter (El'Akhiratu) and the first life (Wal' Uulaa).
﴾ ٢٦ ﴿ ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِی شَفَـٰعَتُهُمۡ شَیۡـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن یَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَرۡضَىٰۤ
﴾ 26 ﴿
And (Wa) how many (Kam) of (Min) angels (Malakin) are in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) whose intercession (34:23) (Shafaa'ätu-hum) will not (Laa) avail (Tug'nii) at all (Shai'an), unless (illa An) after (Min Ba'di) GOD has permitted (Ya'zana-llahu) for whom (Liman) HE wills (Yashaau) and (Wa) approves (Yar'doa).
﴾ ٢٧ ﴿ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡـَٔاخِرَةِ لَیُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ تَسۡمِیَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
﴾ 27 ﴿
Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) do not (Laa) believe (Yu'minuuna) in the hereafter (Bil' Aakhirati) have (La) named (Yusammuuna) the Angels (El'Malaa’ikata) feminine (43:19) (El'Unthaa) names (Tas'miyata),
﴾ ٢٨ ﴿ وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا یُغۡنِی مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَیۡـࣰٔا
﴾ 28 ﴿
but (Wa) they do not possess (Maa Lahum) any (Min') knowledge (il'min) about it (Bihi); they only (In illa) follow (Yattabiuuna) assumption (Ez'Zonna). Indeed (Inna), assumption (Ez'Zonna) does not (Laa) avail (Yug'nii) against (Mina) the truth (El'Haqqi) at all (Shai'a). (10:36)
﴾ ٢٩ ﴿ فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ یُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا
﴾ 29 ﴿
So (Fa) turn away from (A'rid' Än) whoever (Man) turns away from (Tawallaa Än) Our remembrance (Zik'ri-naa) and (Wa) desires (Yurid) only (Lam' illa) the worldly (Ed'Dun'ya) life (El'Hayaata).
﴾ ٣٠ ﴿ ذَ ٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ
﴾ 30 ﴿
That (Zaalika) is their amount (Mab'lagu-hum) of (Mina) the knowledge (El' il'mi). Indeed (Inna), your LORD (s) (Rabba-ka) is (Huwa) aware of (A'lamu Bi) who (Man) has deviated (Dolla) from (Än) HIS way (Sabiili-hi), and (Wa) HE (Huwa) is aware of (A'lamu Bi) who (Mani) is guided (Eh'tadaa).
﴾ ٣١ ﴿ وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسَـٰۤـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى
﴾ 31 ﴿
And (Wa) to GOD belongs (Lillahi) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and whatever (Wamaa) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) in order to (Li) requite (Yaj'ziya) those who (Ellaziina) do evil (Asaau') for what (Bimaa) they have done (Ämilu') and (Wa) reward (Yaj'ziya) those who (Ellaziina) do good (Ah'sanu') with the best (Bil' Hus'naa);
﴾ ٣٢ ﴿ ٱلَّذِینَ یَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰۤىِٕرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَ ٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَ ٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةࣱ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۤ
﴾ 32 ﴿
the ones who (Ellaziina) avoid (Yaj'tanibuuna) the major (Kabaa’ira) sins (El'Ith'mi) and obscenities (Wal' Fawaahisha), except (illa) slight foolishness (Ellamama). Indeed (Inna), the forgiveness (El'Mag'firati) of your LORD (s) (Rabba-ka) is extensive (Waasiu). HE (Huwa) is aware (A'lamu) of you (Bikum) since (Iz') HE established you (Ansha'a-kum) from (Mina) the earth (El'Ar'di), and (Wa) when (Iz') you (p) (Antum) were foetuses (Ajinnatun) in (Fii) the bellies (Butuuni) of your mothers (Ummahaati-kum’). So (Fa) do not (Laa) claim purity (Tuzakkuu') to yourselves (Anfusa-kum’); HE (Huwa) is aware of (A'lamu Bi) whoever (Mani) is pious (Ettaqaa).
﴾ ٣٣ ﴿ أَفَرَءَیۡتَ ٱلَّذِی تَوَلَّىٰ
﴾ 33 ﴿
Have you (s) then considered (Afa-Ra'ai'ta) the one who (Ellazii) turned away (Tawallaa)
﴾ ٣٤ ﴿ وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِیلࣰا وَأَكۡدَىٰۤ
﴾ 34 ﴿
and (Wa) gave (A'taa) a little (Qaliilan) and became stingy (Ak'daa)?
﴾ ٣٥ ﴿ أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ فَهُوَ یَرَىٰۤ
﴾ 35 ﴿
Does he possess (A-Enda-hu) knowledge (il'mu) of the unseen (El'Gai'bi), and (Fa) he (Huwa) sees (Yaraa)?
﴾ ٣٦ ﴿ أَمۡ لَمۡ یُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِی صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
﴾ 36 ﴿
Or (Am') was he not (Lam') informed (Yunabba') of what (Bimaa) is in (Fii) the pages (Suhufi) of Moses (Muusa),
﴾ ٣٧ ﴿ وَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ ٱلَّذِی وَفَّىٰۤ
﴾ 37 ﴿
as well as (Wa) Abraham (Ib'raahiima), who (Ellazii) fulfilled (Waffaa)? (87:19)
﴾ ٣٨ ﴿ أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ
﴾ 38 ﴿
That no (Alla) bearer of burden (Waaziratun) can bear (Taziru) the burden (Wiz'ra) of another (Ukh'raa)?! (17:15 / 6:164 / 35:18 / 39:7)
﴾ ٣٩ ﴿ وَأَن لَّیۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
﴾ 39 ﴿
And (Wa) that (An) the human being gets (Lil' Insaani) only (Lai'sa illa) what (Maa) he strives (Sa'ää)?! (17:15)
﴾ ٤٠ ﴿ وَأَنَّ سَعۡیَهُۥ سَوۡفَ یُرَىٰ
﴾ 40 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Anna) his effort (Sa'ya-hu) will (Saw'fa) be shown (Yuraa)?! (17:13-14)
﴾ ٤١ ﴿ ثُمَّ یُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَاۤءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ
﴾ 41 ﴿
Then (Thumma) he will be requited (Yuj'zaa-hu) with the fullest (El'Aw'faa) requital (El'Jazaa'a)?!
﴾ ٤٢ ﴿ وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ
﴾ 42 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Anna) to (ilaa) your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) is the end (El'Muntahaa)?!
﴾ ٤٣ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ
﴾ 43 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Annahu) HE (Huwa) causes laughter (Ad'haka) and (Wa) causes tears (Ab'kaa)?!
﴾ ٤٤ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡیَا
﴾ 44 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Annahu) HE (Huwa) causes death (Amaata) and (Wa) gives life (Ah'yaa)?! (45:26)
﴾ ٤٥ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَیۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
﴾ 45 ﴿
And (Wa) that HE (Annahu) creates (Khalaqa) the two kinds (couples) (Ez'Zaw'jai'ni); a male (Ez'Zakara) and (Wa) a female (El'Unthaa)
﴾ ٤٦ ﴿ مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ
﴾ 46 ﴿
from (Min) a sperm (Nut'fatin) when (Izaa) ejaculated (Tum'naa)?!
﴾ ٤٧ ﴿ وَأَنَّ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ
﴾ 47 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Anna) upon HIM (Älai'hi) is another (El'Ukh'raa) origination (29:20) (En'Nash'ata)?!
﴾ ٤٨ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ
﴾ 48 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Annahu) HE (Huwa) enriches (Ag'naa) and (Wa) seizes (Aq'naa)?!
﴾ ٤٩ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ
﴾ 49 ﴿
And (Wa) that (Annahu) HE (Huwa) is the LORD (Rabbu) of the Sirius (El'Shi'raa)?!
﴾ ٥٠ ﴿ وَأَنَّهُۥۤ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
﴾ 50 ﴿
And (Wa) that HE (Annahu) annihilated (Ah'laka) the foremost (El'Uulaa) Ad (7:65) (Äädan)
﴾ ٥١ ﴿ وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَاۤ أَبۡقَىٰ
﴾ 51 ﴿
and (Wa) Thamud (11:61) (Thamuuda), and (Fa) they were not (Maa) made to last (Ab'qaa)?!
﴾ ٥٢ ﴿ وَقَوۡمَ نُوحࣲ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ
﴾ 52 ﴿
And (Wa) the people (Qaw'ma) of Noah (Nuuhin) before (Min Qab'lu)?! Indeed, they (Innahum) were more unjust (Az'lama) and (Wa) more oppressive (At'gaa). (71:1-28)
﴾ ٥٣ ﴿ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ
﴾ 53 ﴿
Also (Wa) the homophiles (27:54) (El'Mu'tafikata) who were toppled (Ah'waa)
﴾ ٥٤ ﴿ فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
﴾ 54 ﴿
and (Fa) were covered (Gasshaa-haa) by that which (Maa) covered (Gasshaa)?!
﴾ ٥٥ ﴿ فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
﴾ 55 ﴿
So (Fa) in (Bi) which (Ayyi) favours (Aalaai) of your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) would you dispute (Tatamaaraa)?
﴾ ٥٦ ﴿ هَـٰذَا نَذِیرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۤ
﴾ 56 ﴿
This (Haaza) is a warning (41:43) (Naziirun) of (Mina) the previous (El'Uulaa) warnings (En'Nuzuri).
﴾ ٥٧ ﴿ أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡـَٔازِفَةُ
﴾ 57 ﴿
The end (El'Aazifa’) has approached (Azifati). (21:1)
﴾ ٥٨ ﴿ لَیۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
﴾ 58 ﴿
It has (Lahaa) no (Lai'sa) remover (Kaashifa') other than GOD (Min Duuni-llahi).
﴾ ٥٩ ﴿ أَفَمِنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ
﴾ 59 ﴿
Are you then (Afa-) wondering (Ta'jabuun) about (-Min') this (Haaza) discourse (68:44) (El'Hadiithi)?
﴾ ٦٠ ﴿ وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ
﴾ 60 ﴿
And (Wa) you are laughing (Tad'hakuuna) and (Wa) not (Laa) crying (Tab'kuun)?
﴾ ٦١ ﴿ وَأَنتُمۡ سَـٰمِدُونَ
﴾ 61 ﴿
And (Wa) you (p) (Antum’) bear it proudly (Saamiduun)?
﴾ ٦٢ ﴿ فَٱسۡجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ۩
﴾ 62 ﴿
Therefore (Fa) make obeisance (prostrate) (Es'judu') to GOD (Lillahi) and (Wa) worship (E'budu'). (22:77)
