The Disaster سُورَةُ الحَاقَّةِ
﴾ ١ ﴿ ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ
﴾ 1 ﴿
The disaster (El'Haaqqatu)*!The disaster (El'Haaqqatu)*!
﴾ ٢ ﴿ مَا ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ
﴾ 2 ﴿
What (Maa) is the disaster (El'Haaqqa’)?What (Maa) is the disaster (El'Haaqqa’)?
﴾ ٣ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَاۤقَّةُ
﴾ 3 ﴿
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is the disaster (El'Haaqqa')?And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is the disaster (El'Haaqqa')?
﴾ ٤ ﴿ كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
﴾ 4 ﴿
Thamud (11:61) (Thamuudu) and (Wa) Ad (7:65) (Åådu) denied (Kazzabat' Bi) the catastrophe (El'Qaariå').Thamud (11:61) (Thamuudu) and (Wa) Ad (7:65) (Äädu) denied (Kazzabat' Bi) the catastrophe (El'Qaariä').
﴾ ٥ ﴿ فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِیَةِ
﴾ 5 ﴿
And (Fa) as for (Amma) Thamud (Thamuudu), they were then (Fa) destroyed (Uh'liku') in (Bi) transgression (Ettoagiya'). And (Fa) as for (Amma) Thamud (Thamuudu), they were then (Fa) destroyed (Uh'liku') in (Bi) transgression (Ettoagiya').
﴾ ٦ ﴿ وَأَمَّا عَادࣱ فَأُهۡلِكُوا۟ بِرِیحࣲ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِیَةࣲ
﴾ 6 ﴿
And (Wa) as for (Amma) Ad (Åådun), they were then (Fa) destroyed (Uh'liku') by (Bi) a violent (Ååtiya') squeaking (Sor'sorin) wind (Riihin)And (Wa) as for (Amma) Ad (Äädun), they were then (Fa) destroyed (Uh'liku') by (Bi) a violent (Äätiya') squeaking (Sor'sorin) wind (Riihin)
﴾ ٧ ﴿ سَخَّرَهَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَیَالࣲ وَثَمَـٰنِیَةَ أَیَّامٍ حُسُومࣰاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِیهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِیَةࣲ
﴾ 7 ﴿
which was subjected (Sakkhara-haa) to them (Älai'him) seven (Sab'ä) nights (Layaalin) and (Wa) eight (Thamaaniyata) days (Ayyaamin) in termination (Husuuman). And (Fa) you could see (Taraa) the people (El'Qaw'ma) knocked down (Sor'ää) therein (Fiiha), as if they (Ka'anna-hum) were inefficient (A'jaazu) date palms (Nakh'lin) in desolation (Khaawiya').
﴾ ٨ ﴿ فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِیَةࣲ
﴾ 8 ﴿
So (Fa) do (Hal') you see (Taraa) any (Min) remains (Baaqiya') of them (Lahum)?
﴾ ٩ ﴿ وَجَاۤءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَـٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
﴾ 9 ﴿
And (Wa) there came (Jaa'a) Pharaoh (Fir'äw'nu) and (Wa) those (Man) before him (Qab'lahu) and (Wa) the homophiles (53:53) (El'Mu'tafikaatu) at fault (Bil' Khaatia').
﴾ ١٠ ﴿ فَعَصَوۡا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةࣰ رَّابِیَةً
﴾ 10 ﴿
Consequently (Fa) they disobeyed (Äsow') the messenger (Rasuula) of their LORD (Rabbi-him), so (Fa) HE (God) seized them (Akhaza-hum’) with a mighty (Raabiya') seizure (Akh'zatan).
﴾ ١١ ﴿ إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَاۤءُ حَمَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡجَارِیَةِ
﴾ 11 ﴿
Indeed (Innaa), when (Lamma) the water (El'Maau) overflowed (Togaa), We transported you (p) (Hamal'naa-kum) in (Fii) the sailing ship (El'Jaariya')
﴾ ١٢ ﴿ لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةࣰ وَتَعِیَهَاۤ أُذُنࣱ وَ ٰعِیَةࣱ
﴾ 12 ﴿
so that (Li) We might make it (Naj'äla-ha) a reminder (Taz'kiratan) for you (Lakum) and (Wa) the ear (Uzunun) of consciousness (Waaeya') would be conscious of it (Taeya-haa).
﴾ ١٣ ﴿ فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةࣱ وَ ٰحِدَةࣱ
﴾ 13 ﴿
Then (Fa) when (Izaa) the horn (Es'Suuri) is blown (Nufikha Fii) with a single (Waahida') blow (Naf'khatun)
﴾ ١٤ ﴿ وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ
﴾ 14 ﴿
and (Wa) the earth (El'Ar'du) and the mountains (Wal' Jibaalu) are carried (Humilati) and (Fa) levelled (Dukkata) with a single (Waahida') crush (Dakkatan);
﴾ ١٥ ﴿ فَیَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
﴾ 15 ﴿
Then (Fa) on that day (Yaw'maizin), the incident (El'Waaqiä') will take place (Waqaäti),
﴾ ١٦ ﴿ وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ فَهِیَ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ وَاهِیَةࣱ
﴾ 16 ﴿
and (Wa) the heaven (Es'Samaau) will split off (Enshaqqati), for (Fa) on that day (Yaw'maizin), it (Hiya) will be fragile (Waahiya').
﴾ ١٧ ﴿ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰۤ أَرۡجَاۤىِٕهَاۚ وَیَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ ثَمَـٰنِیَةࣱ
﴾ 17 ﴿
And (Wa) the Angels (El'Malaku) will be on (Älaa) its zones (Ar'jaai-haa), and eight (Thamaaniya') will carry (Yah'milu) the Throne (25:59) (Är'sha) of your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) above them (Faw'qa-hum’), on that day (Yaw'maizin).
﴾ ١٨ ﴿ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِیَةࣱ
﴾ 18 ﴿
On that day (Yaw'maizin), you will be reviewed (Tu'raduuna); no (Laa) secret (Khaafiya') of you (p) (Minkum) will be hidden (Takh'faa).
﴾ ١٩ ﴿ فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِیَمِینِهِۦ فَیَقُولُ هَاۤؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُوا۟ كِتَـٰبِیَهۡ
﴾ 19 ﴿
And (Fa) as for (Amma) one whose (Man’) record (Kitaaba-hu) is given (Uutiya) to (Bi) his right hand (Yamiini-hi), he will then (Fa) say (Yaquulu), "Here (Haaumu), read (Eq'rau') my record (Kitaabiya')!
﴾ ٢٠ ﴿ إِنِّی ظَنَنتُ أَنِّی مُلَـٰقٍ حِسَابِیَهۡ
﴾ 20 ﴿
"Indeed, I (Innii) presumed (Zonantu) that I (Annii) will encounter (Mulaaqin) my account (Hisaabiya')."
﴾ ٢١ ﴿ فَهُوَ فِی عِیشَةࣲ رَّاضِیَةࣲ
﴾ 21 ﴿
So (Fa) he (Huwa) will be in (Fii) a pleasant (Raadiya') life (Eeshatin)
﴾ ٢٢ ﴿ فِی جَنَّةٍ عَالِیَةࣲ
﴾ 22 ﴿
in (Fii) an elevated (Ääliya') garden (Jannatin),
﴾ ٢٣ ﴿ قُطُوفُهَا دَانِیَةࣱ
﴾ 23 ﴿
whose bunches (Qutuufu-haa) are near (Daaniya'),
﴾ ٢٤ ﴿ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشۡرَبُوا۟ هَنِیۤـَٔۢا بِمَاۤ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَیَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِیَةِ
﴾ 24 ﴿
“Eat (Kulu') and (Wa) drink (Esh'rabu') pleasantly (Haniia) for what (Bimaa) you have already done (As'laf'tum') in (Fii) the days (El'Ayyaami) of the past (El'Khaaliya').”
﴾ ٢٥ ﴿ وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَیَقُولُ یَـٰلَیۡتَنِی لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِیَهۡ
﴾ 25 ﴿
And (Wa) as for (Amma) one who (Man') is given (Uutiya) his record (Kitaaba-hu) to (Bi) his left hand (Shimaali-hi), he will then (Fa) say (Yaquulu), "O (Yaa) if only I (Wai'tanii) had not (Lam') been given (Uuta) my record (Kitaabiya')
﴾ ٢٦ ﴿ وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِیَهۡ
﴾ 26 ﴿
and (Wa) had not (Lam') known (Ad'ri) what (Maa) was my account (Hisaabiya').
﴾ ٢٧ ﴿ یَـٰلَیۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِیَةَ
﴾ 27 ﴿
"O (Yaa) if only it (Lai'ta-haa) had been (Kaanati) decisive (El'Qaadiya').
﴾ ٢٨ ﴿ مَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّی مَالِیَهۡۜ
﴾ 28 ﴿
"My wealth (Maaliya') has not (Maa) availed me (Ag'naa Ännii).
﴾ ٢٩ ﴿ هَلَكَ عَنِّی سُلۡطَـٰنِیَهۡ
﴾ 29 ﴿
"My authority (Sul'toaniya') has been taken away from me (Halaka Ännii)."
﴾ ٣٠ ﴿ خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
﴾ 30 ﴿
(It will be said) “Seize him (Khuzuu-hu) and (Fa) shackle him (Gulluu-hu),
﴾ ٣١ ﴿ ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِیمَ صَلُّوهُ
﴾ 31 ﴿
and then (Thumma) burn him (Solluu-hu) in Hell (El'Jahiima),
﴾ ٣٢ ﴿ ثُمَّ فِی سِلۡسِلَةࣲ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعࣰا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
﴾ 32 ﴿
consequently (Thumma) in (Fii) a chain (Sil'silatin) whose measure (Zar'u-haa) is seventy (Sab'uuna) arms (Ziraa'än), so (Fa) put him in (Es'lukuu-hu).”
﴾ ٣٣ ﴿ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ
﴾ 33 ﴿
Indeed, he (Innahu) did (Kaana) not (Laa) believe (Yu'minu) in GOD (Billahi), the GREAT (El' Äziim),
﴾ ٣٤ ﴿ وَلَا یَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِینِ
﴾ 34 ﴿
nor (Walaa) did he urge on (Yahuddu Älaa) feeding (To'äämi) of the poor (El'Mis'kiin). (107:3)
﴾ ٣٥ ﴿ فَلَیۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِیمࣱ
﴾ 35 ﴿
So (Fa) he does not have (Lai'sa Lahu) a close friend (Hamiim) here (Haahunaa) today (El'Yaw'ma)
﴾ ٣٦ ﴿ وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِینࣲ
﴾ 36 ﴿
nor (Walaa) food (To'äämun) except (illa) of (Min') swill (Gis'liin);
﴾ ٣٧ ﴿ لَّا یَأۡكُلُهُۥۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَـٰطِـُٔونَ
﴾ 37 ﴿
none (Laa) will eat it (Ya'kulu-hu) except (illa) those at fault (El'Khaatiuun).
﴾ ٣٨ ﴿ فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
﴾ 38 ﴿
So (Fa) I swear (Laa' Uq'simu) by what (Bimaa) you see (Tub'siruun)
﴾ ٣٩ ﴿ وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
﴾ 39 ﴿
and (Wa) what (Maa) you do not (Laa) see (Tub'siruun).
﴾ ٤٠ ﴿ إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولࣲ كَرِیمࣲ
﴾ 40 ﴿
Indeed, it (Innahu) is (La) the word (Qaw'lu) of an honourable (Kariim) messenger (81:19) (Rasuulin).
﴾ ٤١ ﴿ وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرࣲۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
﴾ 41 ﴿
And (Wa) it (Huwa) is not (Maa Bi) the word (Qaw'li) of a poet (52:30) (Shaaerin); rarely (Qaliilan Maa) do you believe (Tu'minuun).
﴾ ٤٢ ﴿ وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنࣲۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
﴾ 42 ﴿
Nor (Walaa Bi) the word (Qaw'li) of a prognosticator (52:29) (Kaahinin); rarely (Qaliilan Maa) do you take heed (Tazakkaruun).
﴾ ٤٣ ﴿ تَنزِیلࣱ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
﴾ 43 ﴿
A revelation (Tanziilun) from (Min) the LORD (Rabbi) of the worlds (El'Äälamiin). (56:80)
﴾ ٤٤ ﴿ وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِیلِ
﴾ 44 ﴿
And (Wa) if (Law') he (Mohammed) had fabricated (Taqawwala) some (Ba'do) of the sayings (El'Aqaawiil) about Us (Älai'naa), (17:73)
﴾ ٤٥ ﴿ لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡیَمِینِ
﴾ 45 ﴿
We would have (La) seized him (-Akhaz'naa Min'hu) by (Bi) the right hand (El'Yamiin);
﴾ ٤٦ ﴿ ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِینَ
﴾ 46 ﴿
then (Thumma) We would have (La) cut (Qato'naa) the aorta (El'Watiin) from him (Min'hu),
﴾ ٤٧ ﴿ فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَـٰجِزِینَ
﴾ 47 ﴿
and (Fa) no (Maa Min') one (Ahadin) among you (p) (Minkum) could have prevented (Haajiziin) for him (Än'hu).
﴾ ٤٨ ﴿ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةࣱ لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ
﴾ 48 ﴿
And (Wa) indeed, it (Innahu) is (La) a reminder (73:19) (Taz'kiratun) for the pious (Lil' Muttaqiin).
﴾ ٤٩ ﴿ وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِینَ
﴾ 49 ﴿
For (Wa) indeed (Innaa), We know (Na'lamu) that (Anna) there are (La) deniers (Mukazzibiin) among you (Minkum).
﴾ ٥٠ ﴿ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ
﴾ 50 ﴿
But (Wa) indeed, it (Innahu) will be (La) a heartbreak (Has'ratun) for (Älaa) the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriin).
﴾ ٥١ ﴿ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡیَقِینِ
﴾ 51 ﴿
And (Wa) indeed, it (Innahu) is (La) the truth (Haqqu) of certainty (El'Yaqiin). (56:95-96)
﴾ ٥٢ ﴿ فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ
﴾ 52 ﴿
So (Fa) glorify (Sabbih') with (Bi) the name (Es'mi) of your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka), the GREAT (El' Äziim).
