The Thunder

﴾ 1 ﴿ A (Alif), L (Laam), M (Miim), R (Ra): These (Til'ka) are signs (symbols) (Aayaatu) of the Book (El'Kitaabi). And (Wa) what (Ellazii) has been revealed to you (s) (Unzila ilai'ka) from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-ka) is the truth (47:2) (El'Haqqu), but (Walaakinna) most (Ak'thara) of the people (En'Naasi) do not (Laa) believe (Yu'minuun).
﴾ 2 ﴿ GOD (Ellahu) is the One who (Ellazii) raised (Rafaä) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) without (Bi-Gai'ri) pillars (Ämadin) which you see (Taraw'na-ha), then (Thumma) HE sat firmly on (Es'tawaa Äla) the Throne (El'Är'shi) and (Wa) subjugated (Sakkhara) the sun (Es'Sham'sa) and the moon (Wal' Qamara), each (Kullun) occurring (Yaj'rii) for (Li) a fixed (Musamman) term (Ajalin). HE arranges (Yudabbiru) the matter (El'Am'ra) and explains (Yufassilu) the signs (El'Aayaati) perhaps you (Laällakum) will be certain (Tuuqinuun) about (Bi) meeting (Liqaa'a) your LORD (Rabbi-kum’).
﴾ 3 ﴿ And (Wa) HE (Huwa) is the One who (Ellazii) spread out (Madda) the earth (El'Ar'do) and (Wa) placed (Jaäla) anchors (mountains) (Rawaasiya) and rivers (An'haara) therein (Fiiha). And (Wa) of (Min) all (Kulli) fruits (Etthamaraati) HE made (Jaäla) two (Eth'nai'ni) kinds (Zaw'jai'ni) therein (Fiiha). HE causes the night (Ellai'la) to cover (Yug'shi) the day (En'Nahaara). Indeed (Inna), there are (La) signs (Aayaatin) in (Fii) that (Zaalika) for (Li) people (Qaw'min) who ponder (Yatafakkaruun).
﴾ 4 ﴿ And (Wa) adjoining (Mutajaawiraatun) plots (Qito’un) on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) and (Wa) gardens (Jannaatun) of (Min’) grapes (A'naabin) and cultivation (Zar'un), as well as (Wa) twin (Sin'waanun) date palms (Nakhiilun) and (Wa) another (Gai'ru) twin (Sin'waanin), irrigated (watered) (Yus'qaa) with (Bi) one (Waahidin) water (Maa'in). And (Wa) We gave preference to (Nufaddilu) some of them (Ba'do-haa) over (Älaa) others (Ba'din) in (Fii) eating (El'Ukuli). Indeed (Inna), there are (La) signs (Aayaatin) in (Fii) that (Zaalika) for (Li) people (Qaw'min) who reason (Ya'qiluun).
﴾ 5 ﴿ If (In) you (s) are amazed (Ta'jab), then (Fa) the amazement (Äjabun) they state (Qaw'lu-hum) is, "When (A'iza) we have become (Kunna) dust (Turaaban), will we (A'inna) become (Lafii) a new (Jadiidin) creation (Khal'qin)?" Those (U'laaika) are the ones who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') in (Bi) their LORD (Rabbi-him’). Those (U'laaika) will have shackles (El'Ag'laalu) around (Fii) their necks (A'naaqi-him’), and (Wa) those (U’laaika) are the companions (As'haabu) of the Fire (En'Naari); they (Hum) will be therein (Fiiha) eternally (Khaaliduun).
﴾ 6 ﴿ And (Wa) they hasten you (s) (Yas'ta'jiluunaka) for the evil (Bis' Sayyiati) before (Qab'la) the good (El'Hasanati), while (Wa) the examples (El'Mathulaatu) have already (Qad') passed (Khalat) before them (Min Qab'li-him). Indeed (Inna), your LORD (Rabba-ka) possesses (Lazuu) forgiveness (Mag'firatin) for the people (Lin' Naasi) despite (Älaa) their injustice (Zul'mi-him’). Indeed (Inna), the penalty (El'Eqaab) of your LORD (Rabba-ka) is (La) severe (Shadiidu).
﴾ 7 ﴿ And (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') will say (Yaquulu), "Why (Law') has a sign (Aayatun) not (Laa) been revealed to him (Unzila Älai'hi) from (Min) his LORD (Rabbi-hi)." You (M) (Anta) are only (Innamaa) a warner (Munzirun), and (Wa) for (Li) every (Kulli) people (Qaw'min) is a guide (Haad).
 ﴾ 8 ﴿ GOD (Ellahu) knows (Ya'lamu) what (Maa) every (Kullu) female (Unthaa) bears (Tah'milu) and what (Wamaa) the womb (El'Ar'haamu) loses (Tagiidu) and what (Wamaa) increases (Taz'daadu). And (Wa) everything (Kullu Shai'in) is by (Bi) measure (Miq'daar) with HIM (Endahu);
﴾ 9 ﴿ Knower (Äälimu) of the unseen (El'Gai'bi) and (Wa) testimony (Es'Shahaadati); the MAGNIFICENT (El' Kabiiru), the EXALTED (El' Muta'ääl).
﴾ 10 ﴿ It is the same (Sawaa'un) for you (Minkum), one (Man') confides (-Asarra) a speech (El'Qaw'la) and one who (Waman) makes it public (Jahara Bi-hi) as well as (Wa) he (Huwa) who (Man') is hidden (Mus'takh'fi) in the night (Bi-llai'li) and (Wa) visible (Saaribu) by (Bi) day (En'Nahaar),
﴾ 11 ﴿ for him (Lahu) are alternating angels (Muäqqibaatun) guarding him (Yah'fazuunahu) from the front (Min Bai'ni Yadai'hi) and (Wa) from behind (Min' Khal'fi-hi) by (Min') the command of GOD (Am'ri-llahi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) does not (Laa) change (Yugayyiru) what (Maa) is in (Bi) a people (Qaw'min) until (Hattaa) they change (Yugayyiru') what (Maa) is in (Bi) themselves (Anfusi-him). And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) GOD intends (Araada-llahu) evil (Suwaa'an) for (Bi) a people (Qaw'min), there (Fa) is no (Laa) repeller (Maradda) of it (Lahu). They have (Lahum) no (Maa Min) ruler (Waal) other than HIM (Min Duuni-hi).
﴾ 12 ﴿ HE (God) (Huwa) is the One who (Ellazii) shows you (p) (Yurii-kumu) the lightning (El'Bar'qa) of fear (Khaw'faan) and (Wa) ambition (Tomaään), and (Wa) establishes (Yunshiu) the heavy (Et'thiqaal') clouds (Es'Sahaaba).
﴾ 13 ﴿ And (Wa) the thunder (Er'Ra'du)* glorifies (Yusabbihu) with (Bi) HIS praise (Ham'di-hi) and so do (Wa) the Angels (El'Malaaikatu) from (Min') fear of HIM (Khiifati-hi). And (Wa) HE sends (Yur'silu) the thunderbolts (Es'Sowaa'eqa) to (Fa) strike (Yusiibu) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau) thereby (Bihaa), but (Wa) they (Hum) are arguing (Yujaadiluuna) about GOD (Fiillahi) while (Wa) HE (Huwa) is severe (Shadiidu) in intrigue (craftiness) (El'Mihaal).
﴾ 14 ﴿ To HIM belongs (Lahu) the invocation (2:186) (Da'watu) of truth (El'Haqqi). Those (Ellaziina) they invoke (Yad'uuna) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi) cannot (Laa Bi) respond (Yas'tajiibuuna) to them (Lahum) at all (Shai'in), except (illa) like (Ka) one who extends (Baasiti) his two palms (Kaffai'hi) toward (ilaa) water (El'Maai) to (Li) reach (Yab'luga) his mouth (Faa-hu) while (Wa) he (Huwa) cannot (Maa Bi) reach it (Baaligi-hi). And (Wa) the invocation (Duää'u) of the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriina) is only (Maa illa) in (Fii) error (Dolaal).
﴾ 15 ﴿ And (Wa) to GOD (Lillahi) makes obeisance (Yas'judu) whoever (Man) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); willingly (Tow'ään) and (Wa) unwillingly (Kar'haan), and so do (Wa) their shadows (Zilaalu-hum), in the mornings (Bil' Guduwwi) and before sunsets (Wal' Aasoal).
﴾ 16 ﴿ Say (Qul): "Who (Man) is the Lord (Rabbu) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di)?" Say (Quli): "GOD (Ellahu)." Say (Qul'): "Do you then (Afa-) have (Ettakhaz'tum) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi) guardians (Aw'liyaa'a) who do not (Laa) possess (Yam'likuuna) benefit (Naf'än) nor (Walaa) adversity (Dorran) for (Li) themselves 1 (Anfusi-him)?" Say (Qul'): "Are (Hal') the blind (El'A'maa) and the seeing (Wal' Basiiru) equal 2 (Yas'tawii)? Or (Am') are (Hal') the darknesses (Ez'Zulumaatu) and the light (En'Nuur) equal 3 (Tas'tawii)? Or (Am') do they assign (Jaälu') partners (Shurakaa'a) to GOD (Lillahi) who have created (Khalaqu') like (Ka) HIS creation (Khal'qi-hi) and (Fa) the creation (El'Khal'qu) is similar (Tashaabaha) for them 4 (Älai'him’)?" Say (Quli): "GOD (Ellahu) is the creator (Khaaliqu) of all (Kulli) things (Shai'in) and (Wa) HE (Huwa) is the ONE (El' Waahidu), the CONQUEROR (El' Qahhar)."
﴾ 17 ﴿ HE (God) sends down (Anzala) water (Maa'an) from (Mina) the sky (Es'Samaai), and (Fa) the valleys (Aw'diyatu) flow (Saalat’) by (Bi) its measure (Qadari-haa), and (Fa) it carries (Eh'tamala) the flowing (Es'Sai'lu) foam (Zabadan) as hill (Raabiyan). And (Wa) of what (Mimma) they ignite (Yuuqiduuna) in (Fii) the fire (En'Naari) seeking (Eb'tigaa'a) trinkets (Hil'yatin) or (Aw') goods (Mataa'en) from it (Älai'hi) is foam (Zabadun) like it (Mith'lu-hu). Thus (Kazaalika) does GOD cite (Yad'ribu-llahu) the truth (El'Haqqa) and the falsehood (Wal' Baatila). And (Fa) as for (Ammaa) the foam (Ez'Zabadu), it then (Fa) departs (Yaz'habu) uselessly (Jufaa'an), but (Wa) as for (Ammaa) what (Maa) benefits (Yanfau) the people (En'Naasa), it then (Fa) remains (Yam'kuthu) on earth (Fiil' Ar'di). Thus (Kazaalika) does GOD cite (Yad'ribu-llahu) the examples (El'Am'thaal).
﴾ 18 ﴿ For those who (Lillaziina) have responded (Es'tajaabu') to (Li) their LORD (Rabbi-himu) is the best (El'Hus'naa). As for (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) did not (Lam') respond (Yas'tajiibu') to HIM (Lahu), even if (Law' An) they had (Lahum) whatever (Maa) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) altogether (Jamiiän) and (Wa) the like of it (Mith'la-hu) along with it (Maähu), they would have (La) ransomed (Ef'tadaw') thereby (Bihi). Those (U'laaika) will have (Lahum) the worst (Suuw'u) of reckoning (El'Hisaabi), and (Wa) their refuge (Ma'waa-hum) is Hell (Jahannamu). And (Wa) wretched (Bi'sa) is the resting place (El'Mihaad).
