The Cave

﴾ 1 ﴿ Praise (El'Hamdu) be to GOD (Lillahi), who (Ellazii) has revealed (Anzala) the Book (El'Kitaaba) to (Älaa) HIS servant (Äb'di-hi) and has not (Walam) made it (Yaj'äl La-hu) crooked (Ewaja).
﴾ 2 ﴿ Valuable (Qayyiman) to (Li) warn (Yunzira) of a severe (Shadiidan) torment (Ba'saan) from HIM (Min Ladun'hu) and (Wa) give good news (Yubas'shira) to the believers (El'Mu'miniina) who (Ellaziina) do (Ya'maluuna) good deeds (Es'Soalihaati) that (Anna) they will have (Lahum) a good (Hasanaa) reward (Aj'ran),
﴾ 3 ﴿ remaining (Maakhithiina) therein (Fiihi) forever (Abadaa).
﴾ 4 ﴿ And (Wa) to warn (Yunzira) those who (Ellaziina) say (Qaalu'), "GOD has (Ettakhiza-llahu) a son (21:26) (Waladaa)."
﴾ 5 ﴿ They have (Lahum) no (Maa Min') knowledge (il'min) about it (Bihi) nor (Walaa) had (Li) their fathers (Abaai-him). A grave (Kaburat') word (statement) (Kalimatan) coming out of (Takh'ruju Min') theirmouths (Af'waahi-him); they only (In illa) say (Yaquuluuna) a lie (Kazibaa).
﴾ 6 ﴿ And (Fa) perhaps you (s) (Laällaka) would get rid of (Baakhiun) yourself (Naf'sa-ka) over (Älaa) their provocation (Aathaari-him) with sorrow (Asafaa), if (In) they do not (Lam') believe (Yu'minu') in (Bi) this (Haaza) discourse (68:44) (El'Hadiithi).
﴾ 7 ﴿ Indeed (Innaa), We have rendered (Jaäl'naa) whatever (Maa) is on (Älaa) earth (El'Ar'di) as adornment (Ziinatan) for it (Lahaa) that (Li) We may test them (Nab'luwa-hum’); which of them (Ayyuhum) is best (Ah'sanu) in deed (67:2) (Ämalaa).
﴾ 8 ﴿ And (Wa) indeed (Innaa), We will (La) render (Jaaeluuna) whatever (Maa) is on it (Älai'ha) a barren (Juruzaa) field (Soeedan).
﴾ 9 ﴿ Or (Am') have you (s) considered (Hasib'ta) that (Anna) the companions (As'haaba) of the cave (El'Kah'fi)* and (Wa) the inscription (Er'Raqiimi) were (Kaanu') among (Min') Our signs (Aayaati-naa), as an amazement (Äjabaa)?
﴾ 10 ﴿ When (Iz') the young men (El'Fit'yatu) sought shelter (Awaa) at (ilaa) the cave (El'Kah'fi) and (Fa) said (Qaalu'), "Our LORD (Rabba-naa), give us (Aati-naa) mercy (Rah'matan) from YOU (Min Ladun-ka) and (Wa) prepare (Hayyi') a right course (Rashadaa) for us (Lanaa) from (Min') our affair (Am'ri-naa)."
﴾ 11 ﴿ So (Fa) We sealed (Dorab'naa Älaa) their ears (Aazaani-him) in the cave (Fiil' Kah'fi) for a number (Ädadaa) of years (Siniina).
﴾ 12 ﴿ Then (Thumma) We awakened them (Baäth'naa-hum) in order to (Li) expose (Na'lama) which (Ayyu) of the two parties (El'Hiz'bai'ni) has calculated (Ah'soa) how long (Limaa) they had lingered (Labithuu') in time (Amadaa).
﴾ 13 ﴿ We (Nah'nu) narrate (Naqussu) to you (s) (Älai'ka) their news (Naba'a-hum) in truth (Bil' Haqqi). Indeed, they (Innahum) were young men (Fit'yatun) who believed (Aamanu') in (Bi) their LORD (Rabbi-him), and (Wa) We increased them (Zid'naa-hum) in guidance (Hudaa).
﴾ 14 ﴿ And (Wa) We united (Rabat'naa Älaa) their hearts (Quluubi-him) when (Iz') they stood up (Qaamu') and (Fa) said (Qaalu'), "Our Lord (Rabbu-naa) is the LORD (Rabbu) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di). We will never (Lan) call (Nad'uwa') any god (ilaaha) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi). We would have certainly (Laqad') then (Izan) stated (Qul'naa) excess (Shatotoa).
﴾ 15 ﴿ "These (Haaulaai), our people (Qaw'mu-naa) have taken (Ettakhazu') gods (Aalihatan) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi). Why do they not (Law' Laa) bring (Ya'tuuna Bi) a clear (Bayyinin) authority (Sul'toani) for them (Älai'him)? So who (Faman) is more unjust (Az'lamu) than one who (Mimmani) fabricates (Ef'taraa) falsehood (Kaziba) about GOD (Älaallahi)?
﴾ 16 ﴿ "And (Wa) when (Izi) you have dissociated from them (E'tazal'tumuu-hum) and what (Wamaa) they worship (Ya'buduuna) other than GOD (illallaha), then retire (Fa'wu') to (ilaa) the cave (El'Kah'fi), your LORD (Rabbu-kum) will spread (Yanshur') of (Min) HIS mercy (Rah'mati-hi) for you (Lakum) and (Wa) will prepare (Yuhayyi') convenience (Mir'faqa) for you (Lakum) from (Min') your affair (Am'ri-kum)."
﴾ 17 ﴿ And (Wa) you could see (Taraa) the sun (Es'Sham'sa) when (Izaa) it rose (Tolaät), inclining (Tazaawaru) away from (Än) their cave (Kah'fi-him) by (Zaata) the right side (El'Yamiini), and (Wa) when (Izaa) it departed (Garabat) wearing away from them (Taq'ridu-hum’) by (Zaata) the left side (Es'Shimaali), while (Wa) they (Hum') were within (Fii) a gap (Faj'watin) from it (Min'hu); that (Zaalika) was among (Min') the signs of GOD (18:9) (Aayaati-llahi). Whoever (Man) GOD guides (Yah'di-llahu), then (Fa) he (Huwa) is the guided (El'Muh'tadi), but (Wa) whoever (Man) HE sends astray (Yud'lil), then (Fa) you can never (Lan) find (Tajida) a guardian (Waliyyan) instructor (Mur'shidaa) for him (Lahu).
﴾ 18 ﴿ And (Wa) you would consider them (Tah'sabu-hum) awake (Ai'qaazoan), while (Wa) they (Hum) were asleep (Ruquudun). And (Wa) We rotated them (Nuqallibu-hum) to (Zaata) the right side (El'Yamiini) and to (Zaata) the left side (Es'Shimaal'), while (Wa) their dog (Kal'bu-hum) spread (Baasitun) its arms (Ziraa'äi'hi) at the doorstep (Bil' Wasiidi). If (Lawi) you had suddenly came across them (Ettola'ta Älai'him’), you (s) would have (La) turned away (Wallai'ta) from them (Min'hum) in escape (Firaaran), and (Wa) would have (La) been filled (Muli'ta) with terror (Ru'baa) of them (Min'hum).
﴾ 19 ﴿ And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika), We awakened them (Baäth'naa-hum) that (Li) they would ask (Yatasaa'alu') between them (Bai'nahum). A speaker (Qaailun) among them (Min'hum) said (Qaala), "How long (Kam') have you lingered (Labith'tum)?" They said (Qaalu'), "We have lingered (Labith'naa) for a day (Yaw'man) or (Aw') part (Ba'da) of a day (Yaw'min)." Another said (Qaalu'), "Your LORD (Rabbu-kum) is aware (A'lamu) of how long (Bimaa) you lingered (Labith'tum'). So (Fa) send (Eb'äthuu') one of you (Ahada-kum) to (ilaa) the city (El'Madiinati) with (Bi) this (Haazihi) leaf of yours (Wariqi-kum), and let (Fal') him observe (Yanzur) which of them (Ayyuhaa) is the purest (Az'kaa) food (Toääman), and let (Fal') him bring you (Ya'ti-kum Bi) sustenance (Riz'qin) therefrom (Min'hu), but let (Fal') him act gentle (Yatalattof’) and let not (Walaa) anyone (Ahada) perceive you (Yush'eranna Bi-kum).
﴾ 20 ﴿ "If (In) they should indeed (Innahum) overcome you (Yaz'haru' Älai'kum’), they will stone you (Yar'jumuu-kum’) or (Aw') return you (Yueeduu-kum) into (Fii) their creed (Millati-him), and (Wa) you will never (Lan) succeed (Tuf'lihuu') in that case (Izan) ever (Abadaa)."
﴾ 21 ﴿ And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika), We caused them to trip up (A'thar'naa Älai'him) so that (Li) they (p) would know (Ya'lamuu') that (Anna) the promise of GOD (Wa'da-llahi) is true (Haqqun) and (Wa) that (Anna) there is no (Laa) doubt (Rai'ba) about (Fiihaa) the Hour (Es'Saa'äta). When (Iz') they disputed with (Yatanaazauuna) their affair (Am'ra-hum') between them (Bai'nahum) and (Fa) said (Qaalu'), "Construct (Eb'nu') a building (Bun'yaana) for them (Älai'him); their LORD (Rabbu-hum) is aware of them (A'lamu Bi-him)." Those who (Ellaziina) prevailed in (Galabu' Älaa) their affair (Am'ri-him) said (Qaala), "We will (La) seize (Nattakhizanna) a mosque (place of worship) (Mas'jidaa) for them (Älai'him)."
﴾ 22 ﴿ Some will say (Sa Yaquuluuna), "They were three (Thalaathatun); their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their fourth (Raabiu-hum)," and (Wa) others will say (Yaquuluuna), "Five (Kham'satun); their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their sixth (Saadisu-hum)," as they guess (Raj'maa Bi) the unseen (El'Gai'bi); and (Wa) others will say (Yaquuluuna), "Seven (Sab'ätun), and (Wa) their dog (Kal'bu-hum) was their eighth (Thaaminu-hum)." Say (Qul): "My LORD (Rabbii) is aware of (A'lamu Bi) their number (Eddati-him). None (Maa) knows them (Ya'lamu-hum) except (illa) a few (Qaliilun)." So do not (Falaa) dispute (Tumaari) about them (Fiihim) except (illa) with an obvious (Zoahiraan) dispute (Miraa'an), nor (Walaa) shall you seek a legal opinion (Tas'taf'ti) about them (Fiihim) from anyone (Ahadan) among them (Min'hum).
﴾ 23 ﴿ And do not (Walaa) say (Taquulanna) to (Li) anything (Shai'in), "Indeed, I (Innii) will do (Faaelun) that (Zaalika) tomorrow (the near future) (Gadaa),"
﴾ 24 ﴿ unless (illaa An) GOD wills (Yashaa'a-llahu);" and (Wa) remember (Ez'kur) your LORD (s) (Rabba-ka) when (Izaa) you forget (Nasiita) and (Wa) say (Qul'), "May (Äsaa An) my LORD (Rabbii) guide me (Yah'diyani) to (Li) a nearer (Aq'raba) right course (Rashadaa) than (Min') this (Haaza)."
﴾ 25 ﴿ And (Wa) they lingered (Labithu') in (Fii) their cave (Kah'fi-him) for three hundred (Thalaatha Mi'atin) years (Siniina) and (Wa) increased (Ez'daadu') by nine (Tis'ää).
﴾ 26 ﴿ Say (Quli): "GOD (Ellahu) is aware (A'lamu) of how long (Bimaa) they lingered (Labithu'). To HIM belongs (Lahu) the unseen (Gai'bu) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); HE sees (Ab'sir') thereby (Bihi) and (Wa) hears (As'mi')." They have (Lahum) no (Maa Min) guardian (Waliyyin) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi), and (Wa) HE does not (Laa) partner (Yush'riku) anyone (Ahadaa) in (Fii) HIS rule (Huk'mi-hi).
﴾ 27 ﴿ And (Wa) recite (Et'lu) what (Maa) has been inspired (Uuhiya) to you (s) (ilai'ka) of (Min) the book (Kitaabi) of your LORD (Rabbi-ka). There is no (Laa) alteration (Mubaddila) to (Li) HIS words (Kalimaati-hi), and you will never (Walan) find (Tajida) a refuge (Mul'tahadaa) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi). (27:92)
﴾ 28 ﴿ And (Wa) keep yourself (s) (Naf'sa-ka) patient (Es'bir) with (Maä) those who (Ellaziina) invoke (Yad'uuna) their LORD (Rabba-hum) in the morning (Bil' Gadaati) and evening (Wal' Äshiyyi), desiring (Yuriiduuna) HIS countenance (6:52) (Waj'ha-hu). And do not (Walaa) turn (Ta'du) your eyes (Äi'naa-ka) away from them (Än'hum) to desire (Turiidu) the adornment (Ziinata) of the worldly (Ed'Dun'ya) life (El'Hayaati), nor (Walaa) shall you obey (Tuti') one whom (Man') We have omitted (Ag'fal'naa) his heart (Qal'ba-hu) from (Än) Our remembrance (Zik'ri-naa) and (Wa) who follows (Ettabaä) his inclination (Hawaa-hu) while (Wa) he has (Kaana) abandoned (Furutoa) his affair (Am'ru-hu).
﴾ 29 ﴿ And (Wa) say (Quli): "The truth (El'Haqqu) is from (Min) your LORD (Rabbi-kum); so (Fa) whoever (Man) wills (Shaa'a) then let (Fal') him believe (Yu'min), and (Wa) whoever wills (Shaa'a) then let (Fal') him disbelieve (Yak'fur)." Indeed (Innaa), We have prepared (A'tad'naa) for the transgressors (Liz' Zoalimiina) a fire (Naaran) whose canopy (Suraadiqu-ha) will encompass them (Ahaato Bi-him’). And (Wa) if (In) they ask for help (Yas'tagiithu'), they will be helped (Yugaathu') with (Bi) water (Maain) like (Ka) molten brass (El'Muh'li), which scalps (Yash'wii) the faces (El'Wujuuha). Wretched (Bi'sa) is the drink (Es'Sharaabu) and (Wa) evil (Saa'at’) is the support (Mur'tafaqaa).
