Luqman

 ﴾ 1 ﴿ A (Alif), L (Laam), M (Miim):
﴾ 2 ﴿ These (Til'ka) are signs (symbols) (Aayaatu) of the Wise (El'Hakiim) Book (El'Kitaabi),
﴾ 3 ﴿ as guidance (Hudan) and (Wa) mercy (Rah'matan) for the benevolent (Lil' Muh'siniin),
﴾ 4 ﴿ who (Ellaziina) establish (Yuqiimuuna) the Litany (Es'Solaata) and (Wa) give (Yu'tuuna) the Charity (Ez'Zakaata), and (Wa) they (Hum) are certain (Yuuqinuun) of the hereafter (Bil' Aakhirati). (27:3)
﴾ 5 ﴿ Those (U'laaika) are upon (Älaa) guidance (Hudan) from (Min) their LORD (Rabbi-him’). And (Wa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the successful (El'Muf'lihuun). (2:5)
﴾ 6 ﴿ And (Wa) among (Mina) the people (En'Naasi) is one who (Man) buys (Yash'tarii) the diversion (Lah'wa) discourse (El'Hadiithi) in order to (Li) deviate from (Yudilla Än) the way of GOD (6:116) (Sabiili-llahi) without (Bi-Gai'ri) knowledge (il'min) and (Wa) accepts it (Yattakhiza-haa) in mockery (Huzuwan). Those (U'laaika) will have (Lahum) a humiliating (Muhiin) punishment (Äzaabun).
﴾ 7 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) Our verses (Aayaatu-naa) are recited (Tut'laa) to him (Älai'hi), he turns away (Wallaa) arrogantly (Mus'tak'biran) as if (Kaan) he had not (Lam’) heard them (Yas'ma'haa), as if (Ka-anna) there was deafness (Waq'ran) in (Fii) his ears (Uzunai'hi). Therefore (Fa) announce to him (Bas'shir'hu) of (Bi) a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabin).
﴾ 8 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu') and (Wa) do (Ämilu') good deeds (Es'Soalihaati) will have (Lahum) the Gardens (Jannaatu) of Bliss (En'Naeem),
﴾ 9 ﴿ eternally (Khaalidiina) therein (Fiiha); the promise of GOD (Wa'da-llahi) is true (Haqqan). For (Wa) HE (Huwa) is the ALMIGHTY (El' Äziizu), the WISE (El' Hakiim).
﴾ 10 ﴿ HE created (Khalaqa) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) without (Bi-Gai'ri) pillars (Ämadin) which you see (Taraw'na-ha) and cast (Al'qaa) anchors (mountains) (Rawaasiya) on earth (Fiil' Ar'di), lest (An) it swings with you (Tamiida Bi-kum), and transmitted (Battha) from (Min) every (Kulli) creature (Daabbatin) therein (Fiihaa). And (Wa) We sent down (Anzal'naa) water (Maa'an) from (Mina) the sky (Es'Samaai) and (Fa) germinated (Anbat'naa) of (Min) every (Kulli) noble (Kariim) kind (Zaw'jin) therein (Fiiha).
﴾ 11 ﴿ This (Haaza) is the creation of GOD (Khal'qu-llahi). So (Fa) show me (Aruu-nii) what (Maaza) those (Ellazina) other than HIM (Min Duuni-hi) have created (Khalaqa)? In fact (Bali), the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimuuna) are in (Fii) clear (Mubiin) error (Dolaalin).
﴾ 12 ﴿ And (Wa) We certainly (Laqad') gave (Aatai'naa) Luqman (Luq'maana)* the Wisdom (El'Hik'mata) in order to (Ani) be thankful (Esh'kur') to GOD (Lillahi). And (Wa) whoever (Man) is grateful (Yash'kur), then (Fa) he is only (Innamaa) grateful (Yash'kuru) for (Li) his soul (Naf'si-hi) and whoever (Waman) is ungrateful (Kafara), then (Fa) indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Rich (Ganiyyun) and Praiseworthy (Hamiid).
﴾ 13 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Iz') Luqman (Luq'maanu) said to (Qaala Li) his son (Eb'ni-hi) while (Wa) he (Huwa) was preaching to him (Yuezu-hu), "O (Yaa) my son (Bunayya), do not (Laa) associate others (Tush'rik) with GOD (Billahi). Indeed (Inna), polytheism (idolatry) (Es'Shir'ka) is (La) a terrible (Äziim) transgression (Zul'mun)."
﴾ 14 ﴿ And (Wa) We have advised (Wassoi'naa) the human being (El' Insaana) about (Bi) his parents (Waalidai'hi); his mother (Ummu-hu) bore him (Hamalat'hu) in weakness (Wah'nan) upon (Älaa) weakness (Wah'nin), and (Wa) weaning him (Fisoalu-hu) for (Fii) two years (Äämai'ni) in order to (Ani) be thankful to ME (Esh'kur' Lii) and to (Wali) your parents (Waalidai'ka); to ME (ilayya) is the destiny (El'Masiir).
﴾ 15 ﴿ And (Wa) if (In) they struggle with you (fight you) (Jaahadaa-ka) over (Älaa) that which (Maa) you have no (Lai'sa Laka) knowledge (il'mun) thereof (Bihi); to (An) associate others (Tush'rika) with ME (Bii), then do not (Falaa) obey them (Tuti'humaa), but (Wa) accompany them (Soahib'humaa) with kindness (Ma'ruufan) in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'yaa) and follow (Ettabi') the way (Sabiila) of whoever (Man') turns to ME (repents) (Anaaba ilayya). Then (Thumma) to ME (ilayya) is your return (Mar'jiu-kum’), and (Fa) I will inform you (Unabbiu-kum) of what (Bimaa) you have (Kuntum) done (Ta'maluun).
﴾ 16 ﴿ "O (Yaa) my son (Bunayya), indeed (Inna-) if (In) it (-haa) should be (Taku) a weight (Mith'qaala) of (Min') a mustard (Khar'dalin) seed (Habbatin) and (Fa) should be (Takun) in (Fii) a rock (Sokh'ratin) or (Aw') in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) or in the earth (Fiil' Ar'di); GOD (Ellahu) will bring it forth (Ya'ti Bi-haa). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Affable (Latiifun) and Cognizant (Khabiir).
﴾ 17 ﴿ "O (Yaa) my son (Bunayya), establish (Aqimi) the Litany 1 (Es'Solaata), call for (Emur Bi) kindness 2 (El'Ma'ruufi), refrain from (En'ha Äni) abomination 3 (El'Munkari), and (Wa) be patient (Es'bir) over (Älaa) whatever (Maa) afflicts you 4 (Asoaba-ka). Indeed (Inna), these (Zaalika) are from (Min') the determination (Äz'mi) of matters (El'Umuur).
﴾ 18 ﴿ "And (Wa) do not (Laa) grimace (Tusoe'er') thy cheek (Khadda-ka) toward the people (Lin' Naasi) nor (Walaa) shall you walk (Tam'shi) exultantly (Maraha) on earth (Fiil' Ar'di). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) does not (Laa) like (Yuhibbu) all (Kulla) who are arrogant (Mukh'taalin) and proud (Fakhuur).
﴾ 19 ﴿ "And (Wa) be careful (Eq'sid’) in (Fii) thy walks (Mash'yi-ka) and bring down (Eg'dud Min) thy voice (Sow'ti-ka); indeed (Inna), the most condemnable (Ankara) of voices (El'As'waati) is (La) the voice (Sow'tu) of donkeys (El'Hamiir)."
﴾ 20 ﴿ Do you not (Alam') see (Taraw') that GOD (Annallaha) has subjugated (Sak’khara) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and whatever (Wamaa) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) for you (Lakum), and (Wa) has bestowed (As'baga) HIS blessings (Niäma-hu) upon you (Älai'kum); phenomenon (Zoahiratan) and (Wa) hidden (Baatinata)? But (Wa) among (Mina) the people (En'Naasi) are those who (Man) argue (Yujaadilu) about (Fii) GOD (Ellahi) without (Bi-Gai'ri) knowledge 1 (il'min) nor (Walaa) guidance 2 (Hudan) nor (Walaa) an enlightening (Muniir) book 3 (Kitaabin). (22:8)
﴾ 21 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) they are told (Qiila Lahumu), "Follow (Ettabiu') what (Maa) GOD has revealed (Anzala-llahu)," They say (Qaalu'), "Rather (Bal'), we follow (Nattabiu) what (Maa) we found (Wajad'naa) our fathers (Aabaa'a-naa) upon (Älai'hi)." What if (Awalaw') the devil (Es'Shai'toanu) was (Kaana) inviting them (Yud'uu-hum) to (ilaa) the punishment (Äzaabi) of the Inferno (Es'Saeer)?
﴾ 22 ﴿ And (Wa) whoever (Man) submits (Yus'lim') his aim (Waj'ha-hu) to GOD (ilaallahi) while (Wa) being (Huwa) benevolent (Muh'sinun), then (Fa) he has (Qadi) held on to (Es'tam'saka Bi) a certified (El'Wuth'qaa) bond (El'Ur'wati). And (Wa) to GOD (ilaallahi) is the outcome (Ääqibatu) of the matters (El'Umuuri). (2:256)
﴾ 23 ﴿ And (Wa) whoever (Man) disbelieves (Kafara), then let not (Falaa) his disbelief (Kuf'ru-hu) grieve you (s) (Yah'zun-ka). To Us (ilai'naa) is their return (Mar'jiu-hum), then (Fa) We will inform them (Nunabbiu-hum) of what (Bimaa) they had done (Ämiluu'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is aware of (Äliimu Bi) the essence (Zaati) of the bosoms (Es'Suduur).
﴾ 24 ﴿ We make them enjoy (Numattiu-hum) for a while (Qaliilan), then (Thumma) We will force them (Nad'torru-hum) to (ilaa) a rough (Galiiz) punishment (Äzaabin).
﴾ 25 ﴿ And (Wa) if (Lain) you (s) should ask them (Sa'al'ta-hum), "Who (Man) created (Khalaqa) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'do)?" They will (La) say (Yaquulunna), "GOD (Ellahu)." Say (Quli): "Praise (El'Ham'du) be to GOD (Lillahi)." In fact (Bal'), most of them (Ak'tharu-hum) do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 26 ﴿ To GOD belongs (Lillahi) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di); indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is the RICH (El' Ganiyyu), the PRAISEWORTHY (El' Hamiid).
﴾ 27 ﴿ And (Wa) if (Law') that which (Annama) is on earth (Fiil' Ar'di) of (Min) trees (Shajaratin) were pens (Aq'laamun) and the sea (Wal' Bah'ru), became its ink (Yamuddu-hu) thereafter (Min Ba'di-hi) by seven (Sab'ätu) seas (Ab'hurin), the words of GOD (18:109) (Kalimaatu-llahi) would not (Maa) run out (Nafidat'). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Almighty (Äziizun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 28 ﴿ Neither (Maa) was your creation (Khal'qu-kum) nor (Walaa) will your resurrection (Ba'thu-kum) be but (illa) as (Ka) one (Waahidatin) soul (Naf'sin); indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Hearing (Samiiu) and Seeing (Basiir).
﴾ 29 ﴿ Do you not (Alam') see (Tara) that GOD (Annallaha) inserts (Yuuliju) the night (Ellai'la) into (Fii) the day (En'Nahaari) and (Wa) inserts (Yuuliju) the day (En'Nahaara) into (Fii) the night (Ellai'li), and has subjugated (Sakkhara) the sun (Es'Sham'sa) and the moon (Wal' Qamara), each (Kullun) occurring (Yaj'rii) for (ilaa) a fixed (Masammaa) term (Ajalin), and that GOD (Annallaha) is conversant (Khabiir) with whatever (Bimaa) you do (Ta'maluuna)?
﴾ 30 ﴿ That (Zaalika) is because (Bi-anna) GOD (Ellaha) is (Huwa) the TRUTH (10:32) (El' Haqqu), and (Wa) that (Anna) what (Maa) they invoke (Yud'uuna) besides HIM (Min Duuni-hi) is the falsehood (El'Baatilu), and that (Anna) GOD (Ellaha) is (Huwa) the SUPREME (El' Äliyyu), the MAGNIFICENT (El' Kabiir).
﴾ 31 ﴿ Do you not (Alam') see (Tara) that (Anna) the ships (El'Ful'ka) sail (Taj'rii) through the sea (Fiil' Bah'ri) by (Bi) the blessing of GOD (16:83) (Ni'mati-llahi) in order to (Li) show you (Yuriya-kum) some of (Min) HIS signs (Aayaati-hi)? Indeed (Inna), there are (La) signs (Aayaatin) in (Fii) that (Zaalika) for (Li) all (Kulli) who are patient (Sobbaarin) and grateful (Shakuur).
﴾ 32 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) waves (Maw'jun) as (Ka) shelters (Ez’Zulali) cover them (Gashiya-hum), they invoke GOD (Daäwu'llaha) sincerely devoting (Mukh'lisiina) the religion (Ed'Diina) to HIM (Lahu), but (Fa) when (Lammaa) HE rescues them (Najjaa-hum) to (ilaa) the land (El'Barii), then (Fa) some of them (Min'hum) are careful (Muq'tasidun). And (Wa) none (Maa) rejects (Yaj'hadu Bi) Our signs (Aayaati-naa) except (illa) all (Kullu) who are treacherous (Khattaarin) and ungrateful (Kafuurin).
﴾ 33 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) mankind (En'Naasu), reverence (Ettaqu') your LORD (Rabba-kum) and (Wa) fear (Ekh'shaw') a day (Yaw'man) no (Laa) parent (Waalidun) will be rewarded (Yaj'zii) by (Än) his son (Waladi-hi), nor (Walaa) will a son (Maw'luudun) be rewarded (Jaazin) at all (Shai'a) by (Än) his parent (Waalidi-hi). Indeed (Inna), the promise of GOD (Wa'da-llahi) is true (Haqqun). So let not (Falaa) the worldly (Ed'Dun'ya) life (El'Hayaatu) delude you (Tagurrannakumu) and let not (Walaa) the deceiver (35:5) (El'Garuur) delude you (Yagurranna-kum) about GOD (Billahi).
﴾ 34 ﴿ Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) possesses (Endahu) knowledge (il'mu) of the Hour (7:187) (Es'Saa'äti), and (Wa) HE sends down (Yunazzilu) the rain (El'Gai'tha) and knows (Ya'lamu) what (Maa) is in (Fii) the wombs (El'Ar'haami). And (Wa) no (Maa) soul (Naf'sun) knows (Tad'rii) what (Maaza) it will earn (Tak'sibu) tomorrow (Gadan), and no (Wamaa) soul (Naf'su) knows (Tad'rii) in (Bi) what (Ayyi) land (Ar'din) it will die (Tamuutu). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Cognizant (Khabiir).
