The Pen

﴾ 1 ﴿ N (Nuun): By (Wa) the pen (El'Qalami)* and what (Wamaa) they jot down (Yas'turuun).
﴾ 2 ﴿ You (s) (Anta) are not (Maa Bi) a madman (Maj'nuun), by (Bi) the grace (Ni'mati) of your LORD (Rabbi-ka).
﴾ 3 ﴿ And (Wa) indeed (Inna), for you (s) (Laka) is (La) a reward (Aj'ran) without (Gai'ra) indebtedness (Mam'nuun).
﴾ 4 ﴿ Indeed, you (s) (Innaka) are (La) upon (22:67) (Ålaa) a great (Åziim) character (Khuluqin).
﴾ 5 ﴿ So (Fa) you (s) will see (Sa Tub'siru) and (Wa) they will see (Yub'siruun)
﴾ 6 ﴿ as to (Bi) which of you (Aiyyi-kumu) is the bewitched (El'Maf'tuun).
﴾ 7 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), your LORD (s) (Rabba-ka) is (Huwa) aware of (A'lamu Bi) who (Man) has deviated from (Dolla Ån) HIS way (Sabiili-hi), and (Wa) HE (Huwa) is aware of (A'lamu Bi) the guided (El'Muh'tadiin).
﴾ 8 ﴿ So (Fa) do not (Laa) obey (Tutie) the deniers (El'Mukazzibiin).
﴾ 9 ﴿ They wish (Waddu' Law') you would compromise (Tud'hinu), so (Fa) they would compromise (Yud'hinuun).
﴾ 10 ﴿ So (Wa) do not (Laa) obey (Tuti') every (Kulla) contemptible (Mahiin) swearer 1 (Hallafin),
 ﴾ 11 ﴿ a backbiter 2 (Hammaazin) walking (Masshaai) with (Bi) gossip 3 (Namiim),
 ﴾ 12 ﴿ forbidder (Mannaen) of good 4 (Lil' Khai'ri), a sinful (Athiim) trespasser 5 (Mu'tadin),
 ﴾ 13 ﴿ disordered 6 (Utulli) after (Ba'da) that (Zaalika), ignoble 7 (Zaniim);
﴾ 14 ﴿ because (An) he (Kaana) possesses (Zaa) wealth (Maalin) and (Wa) children (Baniin),
﴾ 15 ﴿ when (Izaa) Our verses (Aayaatu-naa) are recited (Tut'laa) to him (Ålai'hi), he says (Qaala), "Tales (Asaatiiru) of the past (El'Awwaliin)."
﴾ 16 ﴿ We will brand him (Sa Nasimu-hu) by (Ålaa) the proboscis (human nose) (El'Khur'tuum).
﴾ 17 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), We have tested them (Balaw'naa-hum’) as (Kamaa) We tested (Balaw'naa) the owners (As'haaba) of the garden (El'Jannati), when (Iz') they swore (Aq'samu') that (La) they will cut it down (Yas'rimunna-ha) early in the morning (Mus'bihiin)
 ﴾ 18 ﴿ with (Wa) no (Laa) exception (Yas'tath'nuun).
﴾ 19 ﴿ So (Fa) a swamp (Toafa) from (Min) your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) floated (Toa’ifun) upon it (Ålai'ha) while (Wa) they (Hum) were asleep (Naa’imuun).
﴾ 20 ﴿ And (Fa) it became (As'bahat') like (Ka) an abscission (Es'Soriim).
﴾ 21 ﴿ So (Fa) they called each other (Tanaadaw') early in the morning (Mus'bihiin)
﴾ 22 ﴿ that (Ani), "Go early (Eg'du') to (Ålaa) your cultivation (Har'thi-kum'), if (In) you would (Kuntum') cut it down (Soarimiin)."
﴾ 23 ﴿ So (Fa) they took off (Entolaqu') while (Wa) they (Hum') were privately talking together (Yatakhaafatuun),
﴾ 24 ﴿ that (An), “No (Laa) poor person (Mis'kiin) will enter it (Yad'khulanna-haa) before you (Ålai'kum) today (El'Yaw'ma)."
﴾ 25 ﴿ And (Wa) they departed (Gadaw') with (Ålaa) sullenness (Har'din) that they will be able (Qaadiriin).
﴾ 26 ﴿ But (Fa) when (Lamma) they saw it (Ra'aw'haa), they said (Qaaluu'), "Indeed, we (Innaa) are (La) lost (Doalluun).
 ﴾ 27 ﴿ "In fact (Bal'), we (Nah'nu) have been deprived (Mah'ruumuun)!"
﴾ 28 ﴿ The mediate of them (Aw'satu-hum') said (Qaala), "Did I not (Alam') say (Aqul) to you (Lakum'), ‘Why (Law') do you not (Laa) glorify (Tusabbihuun)?’ "
﴾ 29 ﴿ They said (Qaalu'), "Glory (Sub'haana) be to our LORD (Rabbi-naa)! Indeed (Innaa), we were (Kunnaa) wrongdoers (Zoalimiin)."
﴾ 30 ﴿ So (Fa) they engaged in (Aq'bala) blaming (Yatalaawamuun) each other (Ba'du-hum' Ålaa Ba'din),
﴾ 31 ﴿ they said (Qaalu'), "O (Yaa) woe to us (Wai'la-naa); indeed (Innaa), we were (Kunnaa) transgressors (Toagiin).
﴾ 32 ﴿ "Perhaps (Åsaa) our LORD (Rabbu-naa) will (An) manifest (Yub'di) for us (Lanaa) one better (Khai'ran) than it (Min'haa); indeed, we (Innaa) are wishing (Raagibuun) to (ilaa) our LORD (Rabbi-naa)."
﴾ 33 ﴿ Thus (Kazaalika) was the punishment (El'Åzaabu), but (Wa) the (La) punishment (Åzaabu) of the hereafter (El'Aakhirati) is greater (Ak'baru), if (Law') they should (Kaanu') know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 34 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), for the pious (Lil' Muttaqiina) are the Gardens (Jannaati) of Bliss (En'Naeem) at (Enda) their LORD (Rabbi-him').
﴾ 35 ﴿ So shall (Afa-) We render (-naj'ålu) the submitters (27:81) (El'Mus'limiina) like (Ka) the criminals (El'Muj'rimiin)?
 ﴾ 36 ﴿ How do you (Maa Lakum Kai'fa) judge (Tah'kumuun)?
﴾ 37 ﴿ Or (Am') do you (p) have (Lakum') a book (34:44) (Kitaabun) in which (Fiihi) you study (Tad'rusuun)
﴾ 38 ﴿ that (Inna) you (p) have (Lakum') therein (Fiihi) whatever (Lamaa) you prefer (Takhayyaruun)?
﴾ 39 ﴿ Or (Am') do you (p) have (Lakum') extensive (Baaligatun) oaths (Ai'maanun) upon Us (Ålai'naa), until (ilaa) the Day of Resurrection (Yaw'mil' Qiyaamati) that (Inna) you have (Lakum') whatever (Lamaa) you decide (Tah'kumuun)?
﴾ 40 ﴿ Ask them (Sal'hum'), "Which of them (Ayyuhum) is a leader (Zaeem) in (Bi) that (Zaalika)?
﴾ 41 ﴿ Or (Am') do they have (Lahum') associates (Shurakaau)? Then let them (Fal') bring (Ya'tu' Bi) their associates (idols) (Shurakaai-him'), if (In) they should be (Kaanu') truthful (Soadiqiin).
﴾ 42 ﴿ The day (Yaw'ma) they will be bared (Yuk'shafu) from (Ån) the shin (Saaqin) and (Wa) they will be invited (Yud'åw'na) to (ilaa) prostration (Es'Sujuudi), but (Fa) they will not (Laa) be able (Yas'tatii’uun).
﴾ 43 ﴿ Their eyesight (Ab'soaru-hum’) will be humbled (Khaashiåtan), shame (Zillatun) will overtake them (Tar'haqu-hum'). And (Wa) they were (Kaanu') already (Qad') invited (Yud'åw'na) to (ilaa) the prostration (Es'Sujuudi) while (Wa) they (Hum') were sound (Saalimuun).
﴾ 44 ﴿ So (Fa) leave ME (Zar'nii) with (Wa) whoever (Man) denies (Yukazzibu Bi) this (Haaza) discourse (52:34) (El'Hadiithi). We will gradually advance them (7:182) (Sa Nas'tad'riju-hum) from (Min') where (Hai'thu) they do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 45 ﴿ And (Wa) I (God) will dictate (Um'lii) for them (Lahum'). Indeed (Inna), MY scheme (Kai'dii) is solid (Matiin). (7:183)
﴾ 46 ﴿ Or (Am') do you (s) ask them (Tas'alu-hum') for a wage (Aj'ran), and (Fa) they (Hum) are burdened (Muth'qaluun) by (Min) liability (Mag'ramin)? (52:40)
﴾ 47 ﴿ Or (Am') do they possess (Endahumu) the unseen (El'Gai'bu), and (Fa) they (Hum) are destined (Yak'tubuun)?
﴾ 48 ﴿ Therefore (Fa) be patient (Es'bir') for (Li) the judgement (Huk'mi) of your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) and (Wa) do not (Laa) be (Takun) like (Ka) the companion (Soahibi) of the whale (Jonah) (El'Huuti) when (Iz') he cried out (Naadaa) while (Wa) he (Huwa) was contained (Mak'zuum).
﴾ 49 ﴿ If (Law') not (Laa) because (An) the grace (Ni'matun) of (Min) his LORD (Rabbi-hi) corrected him (Tadaaraka-hu), he (Jonah) would have been (La) discarded (Nubiza) into (Bi) the open (El'Åraai) while (Wa) being (Huwa) censured (Maz'muum),
﴾ 50 ﴿ but (Fa) his LORD (Rabbu-hu) chose him (Ej'tabaa-hu) and (Fa) made him (Jaåla-hu) one of (Mina) the righteous (Es'Soalihiin).
﴾ 51 ﴿ Indeed (In), those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') would (La) almost (Yakaadu) make you (s) slip (Yaz'liquuna-ka) with (Bi) their eyesight (Ab'soari-him’) when (Lammaa) they hear (Samiu') the Remembrance (15:6) (Ez'Zik'ra), and (Wa) they will say (Yaquuluuna), "Indeed, he (Innahu) is (La) a madman (Maj'nuun)!"
﴾ 52 ﴿ But (Wa) it (Huwa) is only (Maa illa) a remembrance (81:27) (Zik'run) to the worlds (Lil' Åålamiin).
