The Misers سُورَةُ المُطَفِّفِينَ
﴾ ١ ﴿ وَیۡلࣱ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِینَ
﴾ 1 ﴿
Woe (Wai'lun) to the misers (Lil' Mutoffifiin)*,
﴾ ٢ ﴿ ٱلَّذِینَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ یَسۡتَوۡفُونَ
﴾ 2 ﴿
who (Ellaziina), when (Izaa) they agglomerate (Ek'taalu') from (Älaa) people (En'Naasi), they take full share (Yas'taw'fuun),
﴾ ٣ ﴿ وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ یُخۡسِرُونَ
﴾ 3 ﴿
but (Wa) when (Izaa) they measure for them (p) (Kaaluu-hum’) or (Aw) weigh for them (Wazanuu-hum’), they cause loss (Yukh'siruun).
﴾ ٤ ﴿ أَلَا یَظُنُّ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ
﴾ 4 ﴿
Do (A-) they (U'laaika) not (-laa) believe (Yazunnu) that they (Annahum) will be resurrected (Mab'uuthuun)
﴾ ٥ ﴿ لِیَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ
﴾ 5 ﴿
for (Li) a terrible (Äziim) day (Yaw'min),
﴾ ٦ ﴿ یَوۡمَ یَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
﴾ 6 ﴿
the day (Yaw'ma) mankind (En'Naasu) will stand (Yaquumu) before (Li) the LORD (Rabbi) of the worlds (El'Äälamiin)?
﴾ ٧ ﴿ كَلَّاۤ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِی سِجِّینࣲ
﴾ 7 ﴿
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed (Inna), the register (record) (Kitaaba) of the immoral (El'Fujjaari) is in (Lafii) shrouding (Sijjiin).
﴾ ٨ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّینࣱ
﴾ 8 ﴿
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is shrouding (Sijjiin)?
﴾ ٩ ﴿ كِتَـٰبࣱ مَّرۡقُومࣱ
﴾ 9 ﴿
It is a numerical (Mar'quum) register (Kitaabun). 1
﴾ ١٠ ﴿ وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ
﴾ 10 ﴿
Woe (Wai'lun) to the deniers (Lil' Mukazzibiin), on that day (Yaw'maizin), (77:15)
﴾ ١١ ﴿ ٱلَّذِینَ یُكَذِّبُونَ بِیَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ
﴾ 11 ﴿
who (Ellaziina) are denying (Yukazzibuuna Bi) the Day of Judgement (Yaw'mi-d'Diin).
﴾ ١٢ ﴿ وَمَا یُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦۤ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِیمٍ
﴾ 12 ﴿
But (Wa) none (Maa) denies it (Yukazzibu B-ihi) except (illa) every (Kullu) sinful (Athiim) trespasser (Mu'tadin).
﴾ ١٣ ﴿ إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِ ءَایَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ
﴾ 13 ﴿
When (Izaa) Our verses (Aayaatu-naa) are recited (Tut'laa) to him (Älai'hi), he says (Qaala), "Tales (Asaatiiru) of the past (El'Awwaliin)."
﴾ ١٤ ﴿ كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ
﴾ 14 ﴿
Nay (Kallaa)! In fact (Bal'), what (Maa) they have been (Kaanu') earning (Yak'sibuun) has predominated (Raana Älaa) their hearts (Quluubi-him).
﴾ ١٥ ﴿ كَلَّاۤ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ
﴾ 15 ﴿
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed, they (Innahum) will be (La) partitioned (Mah'juubuun) from (Än) their LORD (Rabbi-him), on that day (Yaw'maizin). (57:13)
﴾ ١٦ ﴿ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ
﴾ 16 ﴿
For (Thumma) indeed, they (Innahum) will (La) burn (Soalu') in Hell (El'Jahiim).
﴾ ١٧ ﴿ ثُمَّ یُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
﴾ 17 ﴿
And (Thumma) they will be told (Yuqaalu), "This (Haaza) is what (Ellazii) you used to (Kuntum) deny (Tukazzibuun Bi-hi)."
﴾ ١٨ ﴿ كَلَّاۤ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِی عِلِّیِّینَ
﴾ 18 ﴿
Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed (Inna), the register (record) (Kitaaba) of the pious (El'Ab'raari) is in (Lafii) loftiness (Elliyyiin).
﴾ ١٩ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّیُّونَ
﴾ 19 ﴿
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is loftiness (Elliyyuun)?
﴾ ٢٠ ﴿ كِتَـٰبࣱ مَّرۡقُومࣱ
﴾ 20 ﴿
It is a numerical (Mar'quum) register (Kitaabun). 2
﴾ ٢١ ﴿ یَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
﴾ 21 ﴿
Those nearby (El'Muqarrabuun) will witness it (Yash'hadu-hu).
﴾ ٢٢ ﴿ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِی نَعِیمٍ
﴾ 22 ﴿
Indeed (Inna), the pious (El'Ab'raara) will be in (Lafii) bliss (Naeem), (82:13)
﴾ ٢٣ ﴿ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَاۤىِٕكِ یَنظُرُونَ
﴾ 23 ﴿
observing (Yanzuruun) on (Älaa) couches (El'Araa'iki).
﴾ ٢٤ ﴿ تَعۡرِفُ فِی وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِیمِ
﴾ 24 ﴿
You will recognize (Ta'rifu) the splendour (Nad'rata) of Bliss (En'Naeem) in (Fii) their faces (Wujuuhi-him').
﴾ ٢٥ ﴿ یُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِیقࣲ مَّخۡتُومٍ
﴾ 25 ﴿
They will be given to drink (Yas'qaw'na) from (Min) sealed (Makh'tuum) nectar (Rahiiqin),
﴾ ٢٦ ﴿ خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكࣱۚ وَفِی ذَ ٰلِكَ فَلۡیَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ
﴾ 26 ﴿
whose conclusion (Khitaamu-hu) is of musk (Mis'kun); and (Wa) so let (Fal') the competitors (El'Mutanaafisuun) compete (Yatanaafasi) for (Fii) that (Zaalika).
﴾ ٢٧ ﴿ وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِیمٍ
﴾ 27 ﴿
And (Wa) its mixture (Mizaaju-hu) is of (Min) fragrance (perfume) (Tas'niim);
﴾ ٢٨ ﴿ عَیۡنࣰا یَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
﴾ 28 ﴿
as a spring (Äi'nan) from which (Bihaa) those nearby (El'Muqarrabuun) will drink (Yash'rabu).
﴾ ٢٩ ﴿ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ أَجۡرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ یَضۡحَكُونَ
﴾ 29 ﴿
Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) acted wrong (Aj'ramu') used to (Kaanu’) laugh at (Yad'hakuun Min) those who (Ellaziina) believed (Aamanu').
﴾ ٣٠ ﴿ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمۡ یَتَغَامَزُونَ
﴾ 30 ﴿
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they (the wrongful) passed by them (Marru' Bihim'), they would wink at each other (Yatagaamazuun).
﴾ ٣١ ﴿ وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِینَ
﴾ 31 ﴿
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they turned (Enqalabuu') to (ilaa) their people (Ah'li-himu), they would return (Enqalabu') teasing (Fakihiin).
﴾ ٣٢ ﴿ وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ لَضَاۤلُّونَ
﴾ 32 ﴿
And (Wa) whenever (Izaa) they saw them (the believers) (Ra'aw'hum'), they would say (Qaaluu'), "Indeed (Inna), these people (Haaulaai) are (La) lost (Doalluun),
﴾ ٣٣ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أُرۡسِلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَـٰفِظِینَ
﴾ 33 ﴿
for (Wa) there are no (Maa) guardians (13:11) (Haafiziin) sent (Ur'silu') over them (Älai'him')."
﴾ ٣٤ ﴿ فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ یَضۡحَكُونَ
﴾ 34 ﴿
So (Fa) today (El'Yaw'ma), those who (Ellaziina) believed (Aamanu') are laughing at (Yad'hakuun Mina) the disbelievers (El'Kuffaari),
﴾ ٣٥ ﴿ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَاۤىِٕكِ یَنظُرُونَ
﴾ 35 ﴿
observing (Yanzuruun) on (Älaa) couches (El'Araa'iki).
﴾ ٣٦ ﴿ هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡعَلُونَ
﴾ 36 ﴿
Have (Hal') the disbelievers (El'Kuffaaru) been rewarded (Thuwwiba) for what (Maa) they have been (Kaanu') doing (Yaf'äluun)?(SRV - 83:9, 83:20)
