The Spoils

﴾ 1 ﴿ They ask you (s) (Yas'aluunaka) about (Äni) the spoils (El'Anfaali)*. Say (Quli): "The spoils (El'Anfaalu) are for GOD (Lillahi) and (Wa) the Messenger (Er'Rasuuli). So (Fa) reverence GOD (Et'taquu'-llaha) and reform (As'lihuu') the ego (Zaata) between you (Bai'nikum'), and (Wa) obey GOD (Atiiuu'llaha) and HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu), if (In) you should be (Kuntum) believers (Mu'miniin).”
﴾ 2 ﴿ The believers (49:15) (El'Mu'minuuna) are only (Innama) those whom (Ellaziina), when (Izaa) GOD is mentioned (Zukira-llahu), their hearts (Quluubu-hum') are fearful (Wajilat'), and (Wa) when (Izaa) HIS verses (Aayaatu-hu) are recited (Tuliyat') to them (Älai'him'), they increase (Zaadat'hum') in faith (iimaanan), and (Wa) they rely on (Yatawakkaluun Älaa) their LORD (Rabbi-him'),
 ﴾ 3 ﴿ the ones who (Ellaziina) establish (Yuqiimuuna) the Litany (4:103) (Es'Solaata) and (Wa) from what (Mimmaa) We have provided them (Razaq'naa-hum'), they disburse (Yunfiquun);
﴾ 4 ﴿ Those (U'laaika) are (Humu) the true (Haqqan) believers (El'Mu'minuuna); for them (Lahum) are degrees (Darajaatun) at (Enda) their LORD (Rabbi-him') as well as (Wa) forgiveness (Mag'firatun) and (Wa) generous (Kariim) sustenance (Riz'qun).
﴾ 5 ﴿ Just as (Kamaa) your LORD (Rabbu-ka) brought you (s) (Akh'raja-ka) out of (Min) your house (Bai'ti-ka) with the truth (Bil' Haqqi), while (Wa) indeed (Inna), a group (Fariiqan) of (Mina) the believers (El'Mu'miniina) were (La) averse (Kaarihuun),
﴾ 6 ﴿ arguing with you (s) (Yujaadiluunaka) about (Fii) the truth (El'Haqqi) after (Ba'da) what (Maa) had become clear (Tabayyana), as if (Ka'annamaa) they were being driven (Yusaaquuna) to (ilaa) death (El'Maw'ti) while (Wa) they (Hum') were looking (Yanzuruun).
﴾ 7 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Iz') GOD (Ellahu) promised you (the believers) (Yaedu-kumu) that (Annaha) one (Ih'daa) of the two factions (Ettoa'ifatai'ni) will be yours (Lakum'), and you wished (Tawadduuna) that (Anna) the other one (Gai'ra) with (Zaati) might (Es'Shaw'kati) would be (Takuunu) yours (Lakum), but (Wa) GOD intends (Yuriidu-llahu) to (An) enforce (Yuhiqqa) the truth (El'Haqqa) with (Bi) HIS words (Kalimaati-hi) and (Wa) sever (Yaq'taä) the root (Daabira) of the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriin)
﴾ 8 ﴿ that (Li) HE may enforce (Yuhiqqa) the truth (43:78) (El'Haqqa) and (Wa) abolish (Yub'tila) falsehood (El'Baatila), even if (Walaw') the criminals (El'Muj'rimuun) disliked it (Kariha).
﴾ 9 ﴿ When (Iz') you (the believers) sought for the help (Tas'tagiithuuna) of your LORD (Rabba-kum'), thus (Fa) HE responded to you (Es'tajaaba Lakum'), "Indeed, I will (Annanii) reinforce you (Mumiddu-kum) with (Bi) a thousand (Al'fin) of (Mina) the Angels (El'Malaaikati) in succession (Mur'difiin)."
﴾ 10 ﴿ And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) only (Maa illa) rendered it (Jaäla-hu) as good news (Bush'raa) and (Wa) to (Li) reassure (Tat'mainna) your hearts (Quluubu-kum') by it (Bihi). For (Wa) victory (En'Nas'ru) is only (Maa illa) from GOD (Min' Endi-llahi). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Almighty (Äziizun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 11 ﴿ Then (Iz') HE (God) covered you (Yugas'shii-kumu) with safe (Amanatan) drowsiness (En'Nu'ääsa) from HIM (Min'hu) and (Wa) sent down (Yunazzilu) water (Maa'an) from (Mina) the sky (Es'Samaai) upon you (Älai'kum) in order to (Li) purify you (Yutohhira-kum) with it (Bihi) and remove (Yuz'hiba) the filthiness (Rij'za) of the devil (Es'Shai'toani) from you (Änkum') and (Wa) to (Li) unite (Yar'bito Älaa) your hearts (Quluubi-kum') and reinforce (Yuthabbita) your foothold (El'Aq'daam) thereby (Bihi).
﴾ 12 ﴿ Then (Iz') your LORD (Rabbu-ka) inspired (Yuuhii) to (ilaa) the Angels (El'Malaaikati), "I am (Annii) with you (Maäkum'); so (Fa) reinforce (Thabbitu') those who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanu'). I (God) will cast (Sa'ul'qii) terror (Er'Ru'ba) into (Fii) the hearts (Quluubi) of those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru'), so (Fa) strike (Ed'ribu') above (Faw'qa) their necks (El'A'naaqi) and strike (Ed'ribu') every (Kulla) fingertip (Banaan) of theirs (Min'hum')."
﴾ 13 ﴿ That (Zaalika) is because they (Bi'anna-hum') were opposing GOD (Shaaqqu'llaha) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu). And (Wa) whosoever (Man) opposes GOD (Yushaaqiqi-llaha) and HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu), then (Fa) indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is severe (Shadiidu) in penalty (El'Eqaab).
﴾ 14 ﴿ That (Zaalikum'), so (Fa) taste it (Zuuquu-hu); and (Wa) that (Anna) for the disbelievers (Lil' Kaafiriina) is the punishment (Äzaaba) of the Fire (En'Naar).
﴾ 15 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanuu'), whenever (Izaa) you encounter (Laqiitumu) those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') advancing (Zah'fan), then (Fa) do not (Laa) turn (Tuwalluu-) your backs (El'Ad'baar) to them (-hum).
﴾ 16 ﴿ For (Wa) whosoever (Man) turns (Yuwalli-) his backside (Dubura-hu) to them (-him') on that day (Yaw'maizin), unless (illa) as a strategy (Mutaharrifan) to (Li) fight (Qitaalin) or (Aw') to take sides with (Mutahayyizan ilaa) a party (Fiatin), then (Fa) he has (Qad') brought in (Baa'a Bi) a wrath (Gadobin) from GOD (Minallahi), and (Wa) his refuge (Ma'waa-hu) is Hell (Jahannamu); and (Wa) wretched (Bi'sa) is the destiny (El'Masiir).
﴾ 17 ﴿ Therefore (Fa) you (s) did not (Lam') kill them (the disbelievers) (Taq'tuluu-hum'), but (Walaakinna) GOD (Ellaha) killed them (Qatala-hum'). And (Wa) you (s) did not (Maa) fling (Ramai'ta), when (Iz') you flung (Ramai'ta), but (Walaakinna) GOD (Ellaha) flung (Ramaa') so (Wa) that (Li) HE might test (Yub'liya) the believers (El'Mu'miniina) thereof (Min'hu) with a good (Hasanan) trial (Balaa'an). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Hearing (Samiiun) and Omniscient (Äliim).
﴾ 18 ﴿ That (Zaalikum'), and (Wa) moreover GOD (Annallaha) will degenerate (Muuhinu) the stratagem (scheme) (Kai'di) of the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriin).
﴾ 19 ﴿ If (In) you (the disbelievers) sought for victory (Tas'taf'tihu'), then (Fa) conquest (El'Fat'hu) has (Qad') come to you (Jaa'a-kumu), if (In) you refrain (Tantahu'), then (Fa) it (Huwa) will be better (Khai'run) for you (Lakum'), but (Wa) if (In) you return (Tauudu'), We shall return (Naud'), and your party (Fiatu-kum') will never (Lan) avail you (Yug'niya Änkum') at all (Shai'an), even if (Walaw') you were many (Kathurat'), because GOD (Annallaha) is with (Maä) the believers (El'Mu'miniin).
﴾ 20 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanuu'), obey GOD (Atiiu'llaha) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuula-hu), and do not (Walaa) turn away from him (Tawallaw' Än'hu) while (Wa) you (Antum') hear (Tas'mauun).
﴾ 21 ﴿ And (Wa) do not (Laa) be (Takunu') like (Ka) those who (Ellaziina) say (Qaalu'), "We have heard (Sami'naa)," while (Wa) they (Hum) did not (Laa) hear (Yas'mauun).
﴾ 22 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), the worst (Sharra) of creatures (Ed'Dawaabbi) in front of GOD (Endallahi) are the deaf (Es'Summu) and dumb (Wal' Buk'mu) who (Ellaziina) do not (Laa) reason (Ya'qiluun).
﴾ 23 ﴿ And (Wa) if (Law') GOD had known (Älima-llahu) any good (Khai'ran) in them (Fiihim'), HE would have (La) made them hearers (-As'maä-hum), even if (Walaw') HE had made them hearers (-As'maä-hum), they would have (La) turned away (Tawallaw') while (Wa) they (Hum) were avoiding (Mu'riduun).
﴾ 24 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), respond to GOD (Es'tajiibu' Lillahi) and (Wa) to (Li) the Messenger (Er'Rasuuli) when (Izaa) he invites you (Da'ää-kum) to what (Limaa) gives you life (Yuh'yii-kum). And (Wa) know (E'lamuu') that GOD (Annallaha) switches (Yahuulu) between (Bai'na) a man (El'Mar'i) and his heart (Qal'bi-hi), and (Wa) that it (Annahu) is to HIM (ilai'hi) you will be assembled (Tuh'sharuun).
﴾ 25 ﴿ And (Wa) beware of (Ettaqu') a trial (Fit'natan) which does not (Laa) befall (Tusiibanna) those who (Ellaziina) transgress (Zolamu') among you (Minkum') exclusively (Khaassotan). And (Wa) know (E'lamuu') that (Anna) GOD (Ellaha) is severe (Shadiidu) in penalty (El'Eqaab).
﴾ 26 ﴿ And (Wa) remember (Ez'kuruu') when (Iz') you (Antum') were few (Qaliilun), being oppressed (Mustad'äfuuna) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di), fearing (Takhaafuuna) that (An) the people (En'Naasu) will grab you (p) (Yatakhattafa-kumu), then (Fa) HE (God) gave you asylum (Aawaa-kum) and supported you (Ayyada-kum) with (Bi) HIS victory (Nas'ri-hi) and provided you (Razaqa-kum) with good things (Ettoyyibaati) that you (Laällakum) might be thankful (Tash'kuruun).
﴾ 27 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) betray GOD (Takhuunu'llaha) and (Wa) the Messenger (Er'Rasuula) as (Wa) you betray (Takhuunuu') your loyalties (4:58) (Amaanaati-kum’) while (Wa) you (Antum) know (Ta'lamuun).
﴾ 28 ﴿ And (Wa) know (E'lamuu') that (Anna) your wealth 1 (Am'waalu-kum) and your children 2 (Aw'laadu-kum) are only (Annamaa) a trial (Fit'natun), and (Wa) that (Anna) with (Endahu) GOD (Ellaha) is a great (Äziim) reward (Aj'run). (64:15)
﴾ 29 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanuu'), if (In) you reverence GOD (Tattaqu'llaha), HE will grant you (Yaj'äl Lakum) criterion (25:1) (Fur'qaanan) and (Wa) atone (Yukaffir') your bad deeds (Sayyiaati-kum) for you (Änkum) and (Wa) forgive you (Yag'fir' Lakum); for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) possesses (Zuu) great (El'Äziim) favour (El'Fad'li).
﴾ 30 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Iz') those who (Ellaziina) disbelieved (Kafaru') schemed against you (s) (Yam'kuru Bi-ka) in order to (Li) apprehend you (Yuth'bituu-ka) or (Aw') kill you (Yaq'tuluu-ka) or expel you (Yukh'rijuu-ka), and (Wa) they schemed (Yam'kuruuna), and (Wa) GOD schemed (Yam'kuru-llahu), while (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is the best (Khai'ru) of schemers (El'Maakiriin).
﴾ 31 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) Our verses (Aayaatu-naa) are recited to them (Tut'laa Älai'him), they say (Qaalu'), "We have (Qad') heard (Sami'naa), if (Law') we wanted (Nashaau) we could (La) say (Qul'naa) like (Mith'la) these (Haaza). These (verses) (Haazaa) are only (In' illaa) tales (Asaatiiru) of the past (El'Awwaliin)."
﴾ 32 ﴿ And (Wa) then (Iz') they said (Qaalu'), "O God (Ellahumma), if (In) this (Haaza) is (Kaana) the truth (Huwal' Haqqa) from YOU (Min' Endi-ka), then (Fa) shower (Am'tir') upon us (Älai'na) stones (Hijaaratan) from (Mina) the sky (Es'Samaai) or (Awi) bring us (E'ti-na Bi) a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabin)."
﴾ 33 ﴿ And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is (Kaana) not (Maa) to (Li) punish them (Yuäzziba-hum) while (Wa) you (s) (Anta) are among them (Fiihim’), and (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is (Kaana) not (Maa) to punish them (Muäzziba-hum) while (Wa) they (Hum) are seeking forgiveness (Yas'tag'firuun).
﴾ 34 ﴿ But (Wa) why (Maa Lahum) should GOD (Ellahu) not (Alla) punish them (Yuäzziba-humu) while (Wa) they (Hum) are repelling (Yusudduuna) from (Äni) the Sacred Mosque (El'Mas'jidil' Haraami) and they were (Kaanuu') not (Maa) its guardians (custodians) (Aw'liyaa'a-hu)? Its guardians (Aw'liyaau-hu) are only (In' illa) those who are pious (El'Muttaquuna), but (Walaakinna) most of them (Ak'thara-hum’) do not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 35 ﴿ And (Wa) their litany (liturgy) (Solaatu-hum’) at (Enda) the House (mosque) (El'Bai'ti) was (Kaana) only (Maa illa) singing (Mukaa'an) and (Wa) clapping (Tas'diyatan). So (Fa) taste (Zuuqu') the punishment (El'Äzaaba) for what (Bimaa) you have been (Kuntum') disbelieving (Tak'furuun).

﴾ 67 ﴿ It is (Kaana) not (Maa) for (Li) a prophet (Nabiyyin) to (An) have (Yakuuna Lahu) captives (As'raa) until (Hattaa) he has massacred (Yuth'khina) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di). You desire (Turiiduuna) the exhibition (Ärado) of the world (Ed'Dun'ya), while (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) desires (Yuriidu) the hereafter (El'Aakhirata). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Almighty (Äziizun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 68 ﴿ If (Law') not (Laa) the decree (Kitaaba) of (Mina) GOD (Ellahi) had preceded (Sabaqa), you (the believers) (-kum’) would have been (La) touched by (Massa-) a terrible (Äziim) punishment (Äzaabun) concerning what (Fiimaa) you took (Akhaz'tum').
﴾ 69 ﴿ So (Fa) consume (Kulu') from what (Mimmaa) you have captured of spoils (Ganim'tum') as lawful (Halaalan) and good (Toyyiban), and (Wa) beware of GOD (Ettaqu'llaha). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 70 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) Prophet (En'Nabiyyu), tell (Qul) those (Liman) in (Fii) your hands (Ai'dii-kum) of (Mina) the captives (El'As'raa), "If (In) GOD had known (Ya'lami-llahu) any good (Khai'ran) in (Fii) your hearts (Quluubi-kum'), HE would have given you (p) (Yu'ti-kum') better (Khai'ran) than what (Mimmaa) was taken (Ukhiza) away from you (Minkum') and (Wa) would have forgiven you (Yag'fir' Lakum'). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim)."
﴾ 71 ﴿ And (Wa) if (In) they intend (Yuriidu') to betray you (s) (Khiyaanata-ka), then (Fa) they have already (Qad') betrayed GOD (Khaanu'llaha) before (Min Qab'lu), but (Fa) HE made it possible for them (Am'kana Min'hum'). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 72 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanu') and (Wa) emigrated (Haajaru') and strove (Jaahadu') with (Bi) their wealth (Am'waali-him') and their souls (Anfusi-him') in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi) as well as (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) provided shelter (Aawa') and assisted (Nasoruu'); those (U'laaika) are allies (Aw'liyaau) of each other (Ba'du-hum' Ba'din). As for (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanu') and have not (Lam') emigrated (Yuhaajiru'), you have (Lakum) no (Maa Min) alliance with them (Walaayati-him) at all (Min Shai'in) until (Hattaa) they emigrate (Yuhaajiru').
