The Light

﴾ 1 ﴿ A chapter (Suuratun) which We have revealed (Anzal'naa-haa) and ordained it (obligatory) (Farad'naa-haa) and (Wa) have revealed (Anzal'naa) therein (Fiiha) verses (Aayaati) as proofs (Bayyinaati) perhaps you (Laällakum) will take heed (Tazakkaruun).
﴾ 2 ﴿ The fornicatress (Ez'Zaaniyatu) and (Wa) the fornicator (Ez'Zaanii), hence (Fa) flog (Ej'lidu') each (Kulla) one (Waahidin) of them (Min'humaa) a hundred (Mi'ata) lashes (Jal'datin), and do not (Walaa) be taken by (Ta'khuz'kum) pity (Ra'fatun) for them both (Bihimaa) according to (Fii) the religion of GOD (3:83) (Diini-llahi), if (In) you should (Kuntum) believe (Tu'minuuna) in GOD (Billahi) and (Wa) the Last Day (El'Yaw'mil' Aakhiri). And let (Wal') a faction (Toa'ifatun) of (Mina) the believers (El'Mu'miniin) witness (Yash'had') the punishment of them both (Äzaaba-humaa).
﴾ 3 ﴿ The fornicator (Ez'Zaanii) will not (Laa) marry (Yankihu) except (illa) a fornicatress (Zaaniyatan) or (Aw') a female polytheist (Mush'rikatan), as for (Wa) the fornicatress (Ez'Zaaniyatu) none (Laa) will marry her (Yankihu-haa) except (illa) a fornicator (Zaanin) or (Aw') a male polytheist (Mush'rikun). And (Wa) that (Zaalika) is prohibited (Hurrima) for (Älaa) the believers (El'Mu'miniin).
﴾ 4 ﴿ And (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) accuse (Yar'muuna) the chaste women (El'Muh'sonaati) and(Thumma) do not (Lam') bring (Ya'tu' Bi) four (Ar'ba'äti) witnesses (Shuhadaa'a), hence (Fa) flog them (Ej'liduu-hum’) eighty (Thamaaniina) lashes (Jal'datan), and do not (Walaa) ever (Abadan) accept (Taq'balu') a testimony (Shahaadatan) from them (Lahum). For (Wa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the immoral (El'Faasiquun),
﴾ 5 ﴿ except (illa) those who (Ellaziina) repent (Taabu') after (Min Ba'di) that (Zaalika) and (Wa) reform (As'lahu'), then (Fa) indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 6 ﴿ And (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) accuse (Yar'muuna) their spouses (wives) (Az'waaja-hum) and do not (Lam') have (Yakun Lahum) witnesses (Shuhadaau) except (illa) themselves (Anfusu-hum), hence (Fa) the testimony (Shahaadatu) of one of them (Ahadi-him) shall be four (Ar'bau) testimonies (Shahaadaati) by GOD (Billahi) that he (Innahu) is of (Lamina) the truthful (Es'Soadiqiin).
﴾ 7 ﴿ And (Wa) the fifth (El'Khaamisatu) shall be that (Anna) the curse of GOD (La'nata-llahi) will be upon him (Älai'hi), if (In) he should be (Kaana) of (Mina) the liars (El'Kaazibiin).
﴾ 8 ﴿ And (Wa) she will prevent (Yad'rau') the punishment (El'Äzaaba) from her (Än'ha) in case (An) she testifies (Tash'hada) four (Ar'ba'ä) testimonies (Shahaadaati) by GOD (Billahi), that he (Innahu) is of (Lamina) the liars (El'Kaazibiin).
﴾ 9 ﴿ And (Wa) the fifth (El'Khaamisata) shall be that (Anna) the wrath of GOD (Gadaba-llahi) will be upon her (Älai'haa), if (In) he should be (Kaana) of (Mina) the truthful (Es'Soadiqiin).
﴾ 10 ﴿ And (Wa) if not for (Law' Laa) the favour of GOD (Fad'lu-llahi) and (Wa) HIS mercy (Rah'matu-hu) upon you (Älai'kum) and (Wa) that GOD (Annallaha) is Compassionate (Tawwaabun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 11 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) came up with (Jaa'uu Bi) the lie (El' if'ki) are a group (Us'batun) among you (Minkum). Do not (Laa) consider it (Tah'sabuu-hu) bad (Sharran) for you (Lakum); rather (Bal') it (Huwa) was good (Khai'run) for you (Lakum). For (Li) each (Kulli) person (Em'ri'in) among them (Min'hum) is what (Maa) he has earned (Ek'tasaba) of (Mina) the sin (El' Ith'mi), and (Wa) it is a major sin (Kib'ra-hu) for the one who (Ellazii) took charge (Tawallaa) among them (Min'hum), he will have (Lahu) a terrible (Äziim) punishment (Äzaabun).
﴾ 12 ﴿ Why (Law') did the believing men (El'Mu'minuuna) and (Wa) the believing women (El'Mu'minaatu) not (Laa) think (Zonna) good (Khai'ran) of (Bi) themselves (Anfusi-him), when (Iz') you heard of it (Sami'tumuu-hu) and (Wa) say (Qaalu'), "This (Haazaa) is a clear (Mubiin) lie (If'kun)?"
﴾ 13 ﴿ Why did they (the accusers) not (Law' Laa) bring (Jaa'uu Bi) four (Ar'ba'äti) witnesses (Shuhadaa'a) for it (Älai'hi)? And (Fa) when (Iz') they do not (Lam') bring (Ya'tu' Bi) the witnesses (Es'Shuhadaai), then (Fa) they (Humu) are those (U'laaika) who are the liars (El'Kaazibuun) in front of GOD (Endallahi).
﴾ 14 ﴿ And (Wa) if not for (Law' Laa) the favour of GOD (Fad'lu-llahi) and (Wa) HIS mercy (Rah'matu-hu) upon you (Älai'kum) in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'ya) and the hereafter (Wal' Aakhirati), a terrible (Äziim) punishment (Äzaabun) would have (La) touched you (Massa-kum) concerning (Fii) what (Maa) you proceeded (Afad'tum) therein (Fiihi),
﴾ 15 ﴿ because (Iz') you (the believers) accepted it (Talaqqaw'na-hu) with (Bi) your tongues (Al'sinati-kum) and you stated (Taquuluuna) with (Bi) your mouths (Af'waahi-kum) what (Maa) you had (Lakum) no (Lai'sa) knowledge (17:36) (il'mun) about (Bihi) and (Wa) you thought it (Tah'sabuunahu) was insignificant (Hayyinan), while (Wa) it (Huwa) was terrible (Äziim) in front of GOD (Endallahi).
﴾ 16 ﴿ And (Wa) why (Law'), when (Iz') you heard of it (Sami'tumuu-hu) did you not (Laa) say (Qul'tum), "It was (Yakuunu) not (Maa) for us (Lanaa) to speak (Natakallama) of (Bi) this (Haaza). Glory to YOU (Sub'haana-ka), this (Haaza) is a terrible (Äziim) slander (Buh'taanun)"?
﴾ 17 ﴿ GOD (Ellahu) admonishes you (Yaezu-kumu) to (An) never (Abada) return (Tauudu') to (Li) the like of it (Math'li-hi), if (In) you should be (Kuntum) believers (Mu'miniin).
﴾ 18 ﴿ And (Wa) GOD clarifies (Yubayyinu-llahu) the verses (El'Aayaati) to you (p) (Lakum), for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 19 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), there are those who (Ellaziina) like (Yuhibbuuna) to (An) publicise (Tashiiä) obscenity (El'Faahishatu) against (Fii) those who (Ellaziina) have believed (Aamanu'); for them (Lahum) is a painful (Aliimun) punishment (Äzaabun) in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'ya) and the hereafter (Wal' Aakhira'). For (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) knows (Ya'lamu) while (Wa) you (Antum) do not (Laa) know (Ta'lamuun).
﴾ 20 ﴿ And (Wa) if not for (Law' Laa) the favour of GOD (Fad'lu-llahi) and (Wa) HIS mercy (Rah'matu-hu) upon you (p) (Älai'kum) and (Wa) that GOD (Annallaha) is Kind (Rauufun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 21 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) follow (Tattabiu') the steps (2:208) (Khutuwaati) of the devil (Es'Shai'toani). And (Wa) whoever (Man) follows (Yattabi') the steps (Khutuwaati) of the devil (Es'Shai'toani), then (Fa) he (Innahu) calls for (Ya'muru Bi) obscenity (El'Fah'shaai) and abomination (Wal' Munkari). And (Wa) if not for (Law' Laa) the favour of GOD (Fad'lu-llahi) and (Wa) HIS mercy (Rah'matu-hu) upon you (the believers) (Älai'kum), none (Maa Min' Ahadin) of you (Minkum) would ever (Abadan) be pure (Zakaa), but (Walakinna) GOD (Ellahu) purifies (Yuzakkii) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau), for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Hearing (Samiiu) and Omniscient (Äliim).
﴾ 22 ﴿ And (Wa) let not (Laa) those (U'lu') of superiority (El'Fad'li) and (Wa) abundance (Es'Saäti) among you (Minkum) desist (Ya'tali) from (An) giving (Yu'tuu') the relatives (U'liil' Qur'baa), the poor people (El'Masaakiina) and the emigrants (Wal' Muhaajiriina) in (Fii) the way of GOD (Sabiili-llahi), but let (Wal') them excuse (Ya'fu') and let (Wal') them pardon (Yas'fahuu'). Would you not (Ala) like (Tahibbuuna) that (An) GOD (Ellahu) should forgive you (Yag'fira Lakum)? And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Forgiving (Gafuurun) and Merciful (Rahiim).
﴾ 23 ﴿ Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) accuse (Yar'muuna) the chaste (El'Muh'sonaati), unaware (El'Gaafilaati) believing women (El'Mu'minaati) are cursed (Luenu') in (Fii) the world (Ed'Dun'ya) and the hereafter (Wal' Aakhirati), and (Wa) they will have (Lahum) a terrible (Äziim) punishment (Äzaabun).
﴾ 24 ﴿ The day (Yaw'ma) their tongues 1 (Al'sinatu-hum), their hands 2 (Ai'dii-him) and (Wa) their legs 3 (Ar'julu-hum) will testify (Tash'hadu) against them (Älai'him) for what (Bimaa) they have been (Kaanu') doing (Ya'maluun),
﴾ 25 ﴿ on that day (Yaw'maizin), GOD (Ellahu) will fulfil (Yuwaffii-himu) their judgement (Diina-humu) in truth (El'Haqqa), and (Wa) they will know (Ya'lamuuna) that GOD (Annallaha) is (Huwa) the Clear (El'Mubiin) Truth (El'Haqqu). (22:6)
﴾ 26 ﴿ The bad women (El'Khabiithaatu) are for the bad men (Lil' Khabiithiina), and the bad men (Wal' Khabiithuuna) are for the bad women (Lil' Khabiithaati). And (Wa) the good women (Ettoyyibaatu) are for the good men (Lit' Toyyibiina), and the good men (Ettoyyibuuna) are for the good women (Lit' Toyyibaati). Those (the good) (U'laaika) are cleared (Mubarra'uuna) of what (Mimmaa) they say (Yaquuluuna). They will have (Lahum) forgiveness (Mag'firatun) and (Wa) honourable (Kariim) sustenance (Riz'qun).
﴾ 27 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), do not (Laa) enter (Tad'khulu') houses (Buyuutan) other than (Gai'ra) your houses (Buyuuti-kum’) until (Hattaa) you are polite (Tas'ta'nisu') and (Wa) greeted (Tusallimu' Älaa) their people (Ah'li-haa). That (Zaalikum) is better (Khai'run) for you (Lahum); perhaps you (Laällakum) will take heed (Tazakkaruun).
﴾ 28 ﴿ And (Fa) if (In) you do not (Lam') find (Tajidu') anyone (Ahadan) therein (Fiihaa), then (Fa) do not (Laa) enter them (Tad'khuluu-haa) until (Hattaa) you are permitted (Yu'zana Lakum). And (Wa) if (In) you are told (Qiila Lakumu), "Go back (Er'jiu')," then (Fa) go back (Er'jiu'). It (Huwa) is more vindicative (Az'kaa) for you (Lakum). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is aware (Äliim) of what (Bimaa) you do (Ta'maluuna).
﴾ 29 ﴿ There is no (Lai'sa) blame on you (Janaahun Älai'kum) to (An) enter (Tad'khulu') uninhabited (Gai'ra Mas'kuunatin) houses (Buyuutan) wherein (Fiihaa) are belongings (Mataa'un) for you (Lakum). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) knows (Ya'lamu) what (Maa) you manifest (Tub'duuna) and what (Wamaa) you conceal (Tak'tumuun).
﴾ 30 ﴿ Tell (Qul) the believing men (Lil' Mu'miniina) to lower (Yaguddu Min') their eyesight (Ab'soari-him) and (Wa) guard (Yah'fazuu) their private parts (Furuuja-hum), that (Zaalika) is more vindicative (purer) (Az'kaa) for them (Lahum). Indeed, GOD (Innallaha) is conversant (Khabiiru) with what (Bimaa) they do (Yas'na'uun).
 ﴾ 31 ﴿ And (Wa) tell (Qul) the believing women (Lil' Mu'minaati) to lower (Yag'dud'na Min') their eyesight (Ab'soari-hinna) and guard (Yah'faz'na) their private parts (Furuuja-hunna) and not (Walaa) to display (Yab'diina) their adornment (Ziinata-hunna) except (illa) what (Maa) appears (Zohara) thereof (Min'haa).
﴾ 58 ﴿ O you (Yaa Ayyuha) who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu'), let those (Li) your right hands (Ai'maanu-kum') possess (Malakat') and (Wa) those who (Ellaziina) have not (Lam') reached (Yab'lugu') puberty (El'Huluma) among you (Minkum') request for your authorization (Yas'ta'zinkumu) three (Thalaatha) times (Marraatin); before (Min Qab'li) the Dawn Liturgy 1 (Solaatil' Faj'ri) and when (Hiina) you take off (relax) (Tado'uuna) your clothes (Thiyaaba-kum) at (Mina) noon (Ez'Zohiirati) and after (Min Ba'di) the Evening Liturgy 2 (Solaatil' Eshaai); three (Thalaathu) private times (Äw'raatin) for you (Lakum'). There is no (Lai'sa) blame (Junaahu) on you (Älai'kum') nor (Walaa) on them (Älai'him') after these (Ba'dohunna), to circulate (Towwaafuuna Älai'kum) around each other (Ba'du-kum' Älaa Ba'din). Thus (Kazaalika) does GOD clarify (Yubayyinu-llahu) the verses (El'Aayaati) to you (Lakumu); and (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).
﴾ 59 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Izaa) the children (El'At'faalu) among you (Minkumu) reach (Balaga) puberty (El'Huluma), then let (Fal') them request for authorization (Yas'ta'zinu') just as (Kamaa) those (Ellaziina) before them (Min Qab'li-him') had requested for authorization (Es'ta'zana). Thus (Kazaalika) does GOD clarify (Yubayyinu-llahu) HIS verses (Aayaati-hi) to you (Lakum'); for (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Omniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim).

And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is Hearing (Samiiun) and Omniscient (Äliim).

Thus (Kazaalika) does GOD clarify (Yubayyinu-llahu) the verses (El'Aayaati) to you (Lakumu) perhaps you (Laällakum) will reason (Ta'qiluun).
﴾ 62 ﴿ The believers (El'Mu'minuun) are only (Innamaa) those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu') in GOD (Billahi) and (Wa) HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi), and (Wa) when (Izaa) they are (Kaanu') with him (Maähu) over (Älaa) a comprehensive (Jaamien) matter (Am'rin), they do not (Lam') depart (Yaz'habu') until (Hattaa) they have requested for his authorization (Yas'ta'zinuu-hu). “Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) request for your authorization (s) (Yas'ta'zinuunaka); those (U'laaika) are the ones who (Ellaziina) believe (Yu'minuuna) in GOD (Billahi) and HIS messenger (Rasuuli-hi). GOD (Ellahu) already (Qad') knows (Ya'lamu) those who (Ellaziina) infiltrate (Yatasallaluuna) among you (Minkun') to seek refuge (Liwaazan). So let (Fal') those who (Ellaziina) go against (Yukhaalifuuna Än') his command (Am'ri-hi) beware (Yah'zari), lest (An) a trial (Fit'natun) would strike them (Tusiiba-hum') or (Aw') a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabun) would strike them (Yusiiba-hum').

﴾ 64 ﴿ Verily (Alaa) indeed (Inna), to GOD belongs (Lillahi) whatever (Maa) is in (Fii) the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di).
