Joseph

 ﴾ 1 ﴿ A (Alif), L (Laam), R (Ra): These (Til'ka) are signs (symbols) (Aayaatu) of the Clear (El'Mubiin) Book (El'Kitaabi).
﴾ 2 ﴿ Indeed (Innaa), We have revealed it (Anzal'naa-hu) (Ärabiyyan) reading (Qur'aanan)perhaps you (p) (Laällakum) will reason (Ta'qiluun). (43:3)
﴾ 3 ﴿ We (Nah'nu) narrate (Naqussu) to you (s) (Älai'ka) the best (Ah'sana) of stories (El'Qasosi) throughwhat (Bimaa) We have inspired (Aw'hai'naa) to you (s) (ilai'ka) of this (Haaza) Koran (El'Qur'aana), although(In) you (s) were (Kunta) before it (Min Qab'li-hi), among (Lamina) the unaware (El'Gaafiliin).
﴾ 4 ﴿ When (Iz') Joseph (Yuusufu)* said to (Qaala Li) his father (Abii-hi), "O (Yaa) my father (Abati), indeedI (Innii) have seen (Ra'ai'tu) eleven (Ahada Äshara) planets (Kaw'kaban) as well as (Wa) the sun (Es'Sham'sa)and the moon (Wal' Qamara); I saw them (Ra'ai'tu-hum) making obeisance (Saajidiin) to me (Lii)." (12:100)
﴾ 5 ﴿ He (the father) said (Qaala), "O (Yaa) my son (Bunayya), do not (Laa) narrate (Taq'sus) your vision(Ru'yaa-ka) to (Älaa) your brothers (Ikh'wati-ka), for (Fa) they will plot (Yakiidu') a scheme against you(Kai'da La-ka). Indeed (Inna), the devil (Es'Shai'toana) is a clear (Mubiinu) enemy (Äduwwun) to the humanbeing (Lil' Insaani).
﴾ 6 ﴿ "And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika) will your LORD (Rabbu-ka) choose you (Joseph) (Yaj'tabii-ka) and (Wa)teach you (Yuällimu-ka) of (Min) the interpretation (Ta'wiili) of discourses (El’Ahaadiithi) and (Wa)complete (Yutimmu) HIS blessing (Ni'mata-hu) upon you (Älai'ka) and upon (Älaa) the family (Aali) ofJacob (Ya'quuba), as (Kamaa) HE completed it (Atamma-haa) before (Min Qab'lu) upon (Älaa) your twoancestors (Abawai'ka), Abraham (Ib'raahiima) and Isaac (Is'haaqa). Indeed (Inna), your LORD (Rabba-ka) isOmniscient (Äliimun) and Wise (Hakiim)."
﴾ 7 ﴿ There are (Kaana) certainly (Laqad') signs (Aayaatun) for the questioners (Lis' Saa'iliin) regarding (Fii)Joseph (Yuusufa) and (Wa) his brothers (Ikh'wati-hi),
﴾ 8 ﴿ when (Iz') they (the brothers) said (Qaalu') that (La), "Joseph (Yuusufu) and (Wa) his brother (Akhuu-hu)are more beloved (Ahabbu) to (ilaa) our father (Abii-naa) than us (Minnaa), while (Wa) we (Nah'nu) are aclan (Us'batun)? Indeed (Inna), our father (Abaa-naa) is in (Lafii) clear (Mubiin) error (Dolaalin).
﴾ 9 ﴿ "Kill (Eq'tulu') Joseph (Yuusufa) or (Awi) cast him into (Et'rahuu-hu) an empty (Yakh'lu) land (Ar'don);you will have (Lakum) the countenance (Waj'hu) of your father (Abii-kum), and (Wa) become (Takuunu') arighteous (Soalihiin) people (Qaw'man) after it (Min Ba'di-hi)."
﴾ 10 ﴿ A speaker (Qaa'ilun) among them (Min'hum) said (Qaala), "Do not (Laa) kill (Taq'tulu') Joseph(Yuusufa) but (Wa) throw him (Al'quu-hu) into (Fii) the bottom (Gayaabati) of a pit (El'Jubbi); some (Ba'du)travellers (Es'Sayyaarati) might pick him up (Yal'taqit'hu), if (In) you would (Kuntum) act (Faa’iliin)."
﴾ 11 ﴿ They (the brothers) said (Qaalu), "O (Yaa) our father (Abaa-naa), why do you (Maa Laka) not (Laa)entrust us (Ta'mannaa) with (Älaa) Joseph (Yuusufa), even though (Wa Inna) we are (La) his advisers(Naasihuun Lahu)?
﴾ 12 ﴿ "Send him (Ar'sil'hu) with us (Maänaa) tomorrow (Gadan) to graze (Yar'ta') and (Wa) play (Yal'äb').And (Wa) indeed, we (Innaa) will be (La) his guardians (Haafizuun Lahu)."
﴾ 13 ﴿ He (the father) said (Qaala), "Indeed (Innii), it (La) saddens me (Yah'zununii) that (An) you should takehim along (Taz'habu Bi-hi), for (Wa) I fear (Akhaafu) that (An) a wolf (Ez'Zi'bu) would devour him (Ya'kulahu), while (Wa) you (Antum) are unaware (Gaafiluun) of him (Än'hu)."
﴾ 14 ﴿ They (the brothers) said (Qaalu'), "Indeed, if (La'in') a wolf (Ez'Zi'bu) should devour him (Akala-hu),while (Wa) we (Nah'nu) are a clan (Us'batun); indeed, we (Innaa) in that case (Izaan) would be (La) losers(Khaasiruun)."
﴾ 15 ﴿ So (Fa) when (Lamma) they took him along (Zahabu' Bihi), they agreed unanimously (Aj'mauu') to(An) put him (Yaj'äluu-hu) into (Fii) the bottom (Gayaabati) of a pit (El'Jubbi). And (Wa) We inspired(Aw'hai'naa) to him (Joseph) (ilai'hi) that (La), "You will inform them (Tunabbianna-hum) about (Bi) this(Haaza) issue of theirs (Am'ri-him), while (Wa) they (Hum) will not (Laa) perceive (Yash'uruun)."
﴾ 16 ﴿ And (Wa) they (the brothers) came (Jaauu) crying (Yab'kuun) to their father (Abaa-hum’), in the evening(Eshaa'an).
﴾ 17 ﴿ They said (Qaalu'), "O (Yaa) our father (Abaa-naa), indeed (Innaa) we went (Zahab'naa) racing(Nas'tabiqu) and (Wa) left (Tarak'naa) Joseph (Yuusufa) with (Enda) our belongings (Mataa'ena), and (Fa) awolf (Ez'Zi'bu) devoured him (Akala-hu), but (Wa) you (Anta) will not (Maa Bi) believe us (Mu'minin Lanaa),even though (Walaw') we are (Kunnaa) truthful (Soadiqiin)."
﴾ 18 ﴿ And (Wa) they came with (Jaauu Bi) fake (Kazibin) blood (Damin) on (Älaa) his shirt (Qamiisi-hi).He (the father) said (Qaala), "In fact (Bal'), your souls (Anfusu-kum) have enticed (Sawwalat') an affair (Am'ran)to you (Lakum’), but (Fa) patience (Sob'run) is beautiful (12:83) (Jamiilun). And (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is the aid(El'Musta'äänu) against (Älaa) what (Maa) you describe (Tasifuun)."
﴾ 19 ﴿ And (Wa) some travellers (Sayyaaratun) came (Jaa'at'), so (Fa) they sent (Ar'salu') their supplier(Waarida-hum), then (Fa) he lowered (Ad'laa) his bucket (Dal'wa-hu); he said (Qaala), "O (Yaa) good news(Bush'raa)! Here (Haaza) is a boy (Gulaamun)." And (Wa) they captured him (Joseph) (Asarruu-hu) asmerchandise (Bidoaä'); and (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) was aware (Äliimu) of what (Bimaa) they did (Ya'maluun).
﴾ 20 ﴿ And (Wa) they traded him (Sharaw'hu) for (Bi) a very little (Bakh'sin) price (Thamani); a few(Ma'duudatin) dirhams (Daraahima), for (Wa) they were (Kaanu') uninterested (Ez'Zaahidiin) in him (Fiihi).
﴾ 21 ﴿ And (Wa) the one who (Ellazii) bought him (Esh'taraa-hu) from (Min) Egypt (Mis'ra) said to (QaalaLi) his wife (Em'ra'ati-hi), "Confer (Ak'rimii) his abode (Math'waa-hu), perhaps (Äsaa) he will benefit us(Yanfaä-naa), or (Aw') we will adopt him (Nattakhiza-hu) as a son (Waladan)." And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika),We firmly established (Makkannaa Li) Joseph (Yuusufa) in the land (Fiil' Ar'di) and (Wa) that (Li) We mightteach him (Nuällima-hu) of (Mina) the interpretation (Ta'wiili) of discourses (El'Ahaadiithi). And (Wa) GOD(Ellahu) was predominant (Gaalibun) throughout (Älaa) his affair (Am'ri-hi), but (Walaakinna) most(Ak'thara) of the people (En'Naasi) did not (Laa) know (Ya'lamuun).
﴾ 22 ﴿ And (Wa) when (Lamma) he (Joseph) reached (Balaga) his maturity (Ashudda-hu), We gave him(Aata'naa-hu) judgement (Huk'man) and knowledge (il'man). And (Wa) thus (Kazaalika) do We reward(Naj'zii) the benevolent (El'Muh'siniin).
﴾ 23 ﴿ And (Wa) she (Ellatii), in (Fii) whose house (Bai'ti-haa) he was (Huwa), seduced him (Raawadat'hu)from (Än) his soul (mind) (Naf'si-hi). So (Wa) she locked (Gallaqati) the doors (El'Ab'waaba) and said (Qaalat'),"You have (Laka) to come here (Hai'ta)!" He (Joseph) said (Qaala), "I seek refuge with GOD (Ma'ääza-llahi).Indeed, HE (Innahu), my LORD (Rabbii) has made my abode (Math'waa) good (Ah'sana). Indeed (Innahu),the transgressors (Ez'Zoalimuun) will not (Laa) succeed (Yuf'lihu)."
﴾ 24 ﴿ And (Wa) she certainly (Laqad') intended (Hammat) for him (Bihi), and (Wa) he would haveintended (Hamma) for her (Bihaa) if not (Law' Laa) because (An) he saw (Ra'aa) a proof (Bur'haana) of hisLORD (Rabbi-hi), thus (Kazaalika) so that (Li) We would divert (Nas'rifa) evil (Es'Suuw'a) and (Wa) obscenity(El'Fah'shaa'a) from him (Än'hu). Indeed, he (Joseph) (Innahu) was one of (Min') Our (-naa) sincerely devoted(El'Mukh'lasiin) servants (Ebaadi-).
﴾ 25 ﴿ And (Wa) they (both) raced (Es'tabaqaa) to the door (El'Baaba), and (Wa) she tore (Qaddat') his shirt(Qamiiso-hu) from (Min) the backside (Duburin) and (Wa) they found (Al'fayaa) her mister (Potiphar) (Sayyidaha) at (Ladaa) the door (El'Baabi). She said (Qaalat), "What (Maa) is the penalty (Jazaa'u) of one who (Man') intended (Araada) evil (Suuw'an) for (Bi) your family (Ah'li-ka) if not (illa) to (An) be imprisoned (Yus'jana) or (Aw') a painful (Aliim) punishment (Äzaabun)?"
﴾ 26 ﴿ He (Joseph) said (Qaala), "She (Hiya) seduced me (Raawadat'nii) from (Än) my soul (Naf'sii)." And (Wa)a witness (Shaahidun) from (Min') her family (Ah'li-ha) testified (Shahida), "If (In) his shirt (Qamiisu-hu)was (Kaana) torn (Qúdda) from (Min') the front (Qubulin), then (Fa) she is truthful (Sodaqat'), and (Wa) he(Huwa) is of (Mina) the liars (El'Kaazibiin).
﴾ 27 ﴿ "But (Wa) if (In) his shirt (Qamiisu-hu) is torn (Qudda) from (Min) the backside (Duburin), then (Fa)she has lied (Kazabat'), and (Wa) he (Huwa) is of (Mina) the truthful (Es'Soadiqiin)."
﴾ 28 ﴿ And (Fa) when (Lamma) he (Potiphar) saw (Ra'aa) his shirt (Joseph’s) (Qamiiso-hu) torn (Qudda) from (Min)the backside (Duburin), he (Potiphar) said (Qaala), "Indeed, it (Innahu) is from (Min) your scheme (f) (Kai'dikunna). Indeed (Inna), your scheme (Kai'da-kunna) was terrible (Äziim).
﴾ 29 ﴿ "Joseph (Yuusufu) avoid (A'rid' Än') this (Haaza), and seek forgiveness (Es'tag'firii) for (Li) your sin (f)(Zanbi-ki). Indeed, you (f) (Innaki) were (Kunti) of (Mina) those at fault (El'Khaati'iin)."
﴾ 30 ﴿ And (Wa) the women (Nis'watun) in (Fii) the city (El'Madiinati) said (Qaala), "The wife (Em'ra'atu) ofthe nobleman (Potiphar) (El'Äziizi) seduced (Turaawidu) her young man (teenager) (Fataa-haa) from (Min) his soul(Naf'si-hi); he has (Qad') infatuated her (Shagafa-haa) with love (Hubban). Indeed (Inna), we do (La) see her(Naraa-ha) in (Fii) clear (Mubiin) error (Dolaalin)."
﴾ 31 ﴿ And (Fa) when (Lammaa) she heard (Samiät') of (Bi) their scheming (f) (Mak'ri-hinna), she sent(Ar'salat') for them (ilai'hinna) and (Wa) prepared (A'tadat’) couches (Muttaka'an) for them (Lahunna) andgave (Aatat’) each (Kulla) one (Waahidatin) of them (Min'hunna) a knife (Sikkiinan) and said (Qaalat'), "(Joseph)Come out (Ekh'ruj') for them (Älai'hinna)." And (Fa) when (Lamma) they saw him (Ra'ai'na-hu), theymagnified him (Ak'bar'na-hu) and (Wa) slit (Qatta'na) their hands (12:50) (Ai'diya-hunna) and (Wa) said (Qul'na), "A round up (Haasha) for GOD (Lillahi); this (Haaza) is not (Maa) a human (Basharan); this (Haazaa) is just (In' illaa) a noble (Kariim) angel (Malakun)."
﴾ 32 ﴿ She said (Qaalat’), "And (Fa) that (Zaalikunna) is the one (Ellazii) about whom (Fiihi) you blamedme (Lum'tunnanii). And (Wa) I certainly (Laqad') seduced him (Raawadttu-hu) from (Än) his soul (Naf'si-hi),but (Fa) he sought refuge (Es'ta'sama); and (Wa) if (La'in) he does not (Lam') do (Yaf'äl') what (Maa) Icommand him (Aamuru-hu), he will (La) be imprisoned (Yus'jananna) and (Wa) will (La) be (Yakuunan)among (Mina) the dejected (Es'Soagiriin)."
﴾ 33 ﴿ He (Joseph) said (Qaala), "LORD (Rabbi), the prison (Es'Sij'nu) is more desirable (Ahabbu) for me(ilayya) than what (Mimmaa) they invite me (Yad'uunanii) to (ilaihi), unless (illa) YOU divert (Tas'rif') theirscheme (f) (Kai'da-hunna) from me (Ännii), I might adore them (As'bu ilai'hinna) and (Wa) be (Akun) among(Mina) the ignorant (El'Jaahiliin)."
﴾ 34 ﴿ So (Fa) his LORD (Rabbu-hu) responded (Es'tajaaba) to him (Lahu) and (Fa) diverted (Sorafa) theirscheme (f) (Kai'da-hunna) from him (Än'hu). Indeed, HE (God) (Innahu) is (Huwa) the HEARER (Es' Samiiu), theOMNISCIENT (El' Äliim).
