The Catastrophe سُورَةُ القَارِعَةِ
﴾ ١ ﴿ ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
﴾ 1 ﴿
The catastrophe (El'Qaariä')*!
﴾ ٢ ﴿ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
﴾ 2 ﴿
What (Maa) is the catastrophe (El'Qaariä')?
﴾ ٣ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
﴾ 3 ﴿
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is the catastrophe (El'Qaariä')?
﴾ ٤ ﴿ یَوۡمَ یَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ
﴾ 4 ﴿
The day (Yaw'ma) the people (En'Naasu) will be (Yakuunu) like (Ka) dispersed (Mab'thuuth) butterflies (El'Faraashi),
﴾ ٥ ﴿ وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ
﴾ 5 ﴿
and (Wa) the mountains (El'Jibaalu) will be like (Ka) a ruffled (fluffy) (El'Manfuush) wool (El'Eh'ni).
﴾ ٦ ﴿ فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ
﴾ 6 ﴿
Then (Fa) as for (Ammaa) one (Man) whose scales (Mawaaziinu-hu) are heavy (Thaqulat')
﴾ ٧ ﴿ فَهُوَ فِی عِیشَةࣲ رَّاضِیَةࣲ
﴾ 7 ﴿
thence (Fa) he (Huwa) will be in (Fii) a pleasant (Raadiya') life (Eeshatin).
﴾ ٨ ﴿ وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَ ٰزِینُهُۥ
﴾ 8 ﴿
But (Wa) as for (Ammaa) one (Man) whose scales (Mawaaziinu-hu) are light (Khaffat'),
﴾ ٩ ﴿ فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِیَةࣱ
﴾ 9 ﴿
thence (Fa) his abode (inception) (Ummu-hu) will be an abyss (Haawiya').
﴾ ١٠ ﴿ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا هِیَهۡ
﴾ 10 ﴿
And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) it is (Hiya')?
﴾ ١١ ﴿ نَارٌ حَامِیَةُۢ
﴾ 11 ﴿
It is a heated (Haamiya') fire (Naarun).
